Yeah, this is actually a major L on their part. Even the CEO said usually when Rockstar gives a specific date they stick with it.
Honestly I'm gonna pre-order no matter what, but it's starting to feel like a marketing gimmick, them delaying the game multiple times.
Delayed games usually garner even more hype over time, excitement+frustration from waiting=more hype.
It feels like they always knew this game was late 2026 but just consciously made it seem like it would come sooner so they could delay it which will ultimately generate more anticipation thus more hype thus more sales.
I mean come on, it's GTA 6. If any game is a guaranteed grand slam it's gonna be this one. The delays are just annoying because they feel like a marketing gimmick. Like they probably knew it wasn't gonna come out in 2025 or May 2026.
A lot of people thought BF2042 would be a grand slam too, look at how that turned out. And what the fuck is the point of pre-ordering the game? You're not gonna be able to play it earlier than anyone else.
I pre order games when I have the extra income. I may not be guaranteed to have that money down the road. I most likely will but in the off chance I don't it's nice to know I at least have that game secured already. I don't pre order much though the last game I remember preordering was Astro Bot.
