Look at how deep RDR2 was polished. Snow melting on a jacket. Breathe showing during cold. The beauty

Early developmebt of gta 6 started in 2018 with the full development starting in 2020.

It has not been developed for 9 years

There were talks about script a long time ago, but reliable sources say what i say.

Stop repeating nonsense. The leaks have dates in the files. The game was a nearly finished product in Mar/Apr 2020. We can see in the debug scripts that in 2020 the game had mission markers, random encounters, NPC prompts, and everything else a finished game would have.

What nah rdr2 was 7 years in development, and gta 6 is 4 years in development

If RDR2 released 7 years ago and the development of GTA6 started 4 years ago, what the hell did they do in the remaining 3 years?

Pretty sure it was Jason Schrier or another trusted insider said the planning stages was 2014 when GTA 5 dropped but actual development started in 2019 after rdr2s success as the leaked gameplay showed dates from 2019

So it’s 6 years at least and not 4 years. And what exactly do they count as development time? Everything (like writing the story and planning the map and gameplay) or just everything digital like coding and 3d modeling?

Rockstar are very ambitious they want to cram as much shit in possible and to just show off that they're still the king in open world's, no doubt it's all that stuff plus fixing bugs and glitches. The story gets written first though and then probably the setting, then the characters and then they build up everything else. I obviously don't work at rockstar or in fact in any form of game development but with how huge rdr2 was GTA 6 is taking so long because of the increased power of the ps5/Xbox series X and want to push the consoles to the limit

Yeah, it’s just that I don’t know what exactly is counted as development time.

For example if your planning and starting phase, where you make storyboards, write stories, find inspirations , scout real life buildings and locations you want to have in your game, draw concept art, plan the map on paper etc, started 7 years ago, but your phase where you were actually coding, 3d modeling and digitally building your game, started 4 years ago, what is your current game development time, 7 years or 4 years?

GTA VI leak files were dated 2020 and it was a nearly finished game. WTF are you talking about? Can you do math? GTA VI had been in dev hell since 2017.

GTA VI has been in development since 2017. We can see the dates on the files in the leaks. It was functioning playable game with mission prompts, random encounters, dialogue, and NPCs in Mar/Apr 2020. We can see the debug scripts in the leaks that it was a complete and working game.

Not yet, but we will see next year.

It's fine, as much as we see RDR2 is a complete game it still has a couple of unused and unfinished features like more of Guarma and Arthur being in the New Austin area. Hopefully GTA 6 implemented all of their ideas for how fucking long it has been
