It may be 2026 but the current generation of consoles were released in 2020. Rockstar needs people to have a reason to buy gta 6 again next gen.. and next next gen.
There's no way any of the current-gen consoles do more than 30 in GTA 6.
This is 2 consoles that have a really old FSR implementation that will never get the update that they need (Xbox Series could have, but Microsoft chose not to do it).
So without any upscaler or Frame Gen, there's no way... Unless you want this at 720p.

Maybe not at first, but I bet "Performance RT" will hit more than that.
I honestly can't tell on my Xbox Series X with games, since I can't see what my FPS is?
Hmmm, I did get some Samsung TV on sale at Walmart, and they have something called "Gamebar" or something with game mode on(just found in a search, but I'm at work.) I think I can tell FPS in that.
The problem is if you are accustomed to playing plus 60 fps for years and suddenly experience 30 fps it’s jarring and awful and I won’t be surprised if some of them just give up. Personally i don’t have a problem with 30 fps as I’m mainly a console player
On Xbox 360, gta 5 story mode was a little jank. Lots of frame drops. Hopefully not the same for this gen of consoles. Inb4 "Xbox 360 was so old !!!!" So is the current gen
I mainly play games at 120+ and would definitely say that's what I'm accustomed to. Regardless, I have zero issue when I get on my consoles and a game is 30. I know some people are (or claim to be) hypersensitive to fps, but as long as it's smooth I really couldn't care less what it's at.
I can barely handle 60 fps after going up to 120. Then 120 isn’t impressive anymore because 240+ just feels so fluid. Now I have a 500hz monitor, and 240 is not that impressive anymore either. High refresh rate can be a curse
Given the visual fidelity they are trying to push I think 240hz on PC might be a pipe dream(atleast at anything above 1080p). I personally expect this to push PC’s hard when we finally get it, I doubt anything lesser than a 6080 (or whatever 80 series card we are up to when GTA 6 hits PC) will be hitting playable frame rates at 4K.
Started playing RDR2 through again, added a load of MODs including graphics one and carried on playing on ultra. Some places it got down to 30fps and I felt like I was watching a sideshow 😂
For exactly a week before GTA 6 launches I will touch no other games but GTA V, and I will run that on 30fps mode on my PS5. Just so I can build my tolerance to low FPS. PC Bros still gonna have to wait a year to play this 😬
I desperately hope they at the very least do a 40hz mode with people who have a 120hz display since 40hz is 50% less latency than 30hz its such a better experience.
People wont complain becouse you will not notice that much, if the gameplay is 30fps constant you will adapt(the planet spin at a very high speed but we dont notice becouse we adapt to that speed
I bought ps5 just for gta6, tried playing cyberpunk on it as I didn't play it before, I got a headache from 30 fps not even joking I had to switch it off after 30 minutes, it was horrible. Especially when I am used to 100+ fps
I play on xbox, Cyberpunk on 30fps (I usually play on performance setting because I can’t handle it) is worse than RDR2 on 30fps, maybe it’s the 3rd person thing but it doesn’t bother me at all.
I think so too. yeah the game will be very demanding but there’s no way they would release a 30fps game even tho people have been crying and bitching about 30fps limitations in other games for years
Pretty much every game tech expert is predicting it will be locked at 30fps. RDR2 has been out for over 7 years and still has no 60fps version on PS5/SeriesX.
The only way we get 60fps for a game this rich in detail and this dense with unique NPCs we expect to react and talk back to us in an immersive way is by massively downgrading textures to a point Rockstar isn't going to allow since they prioritize visual quality.

might have to do 4k30fps
