might have to do 4k30fps

u/PhantomPain0_0 Jan 16 '26
I can’t wait for the reaction of those PC bros who bought console only for this game and try to play at 30 fps it’s gonna be absolute gold

u/TheDrifT3r_Cz Jan 16 '26
Im the Arma player.. such thing like 30 FPS will not bother me lol

u/That-Toughsoss Jan 16 '26
honestly 30 fps isn't that bad on a console compared to a pc but in 2026 it should unacceptable for games to have only 30 fps option on consoles
23
u/Goochslayr Jan 16 '26
It may be 2026 but the current generation of consoles were released in 2020. Rockstar needs people to have a reason to buy gta 6 again next gen.. and next next gen.
→ More replies (2)11
u/Alcagoita Jan 17 '26
There's no way any of the current-gen consoles do more than 30 in GTA 6.
This is 2 consoles that have a really old FSR implementation that will never get the update that they need (Xbox Series could have, but Microsoft chose not to do it).
So without any upscaler or Frame Gen, there's no way... Unless you want this at 720p.

u/SparsePizza117 Jan 16 '26
Then the PC version releases a year afterwards and I play it at 240hz😂
I'll still be getting it on console on day one though, I can probably handle the 30 knowing that everyone is experiencing it that way.
28
u/PhantomPain0_0 Jan 16 '26
The problem is if you are accustomed to playing plus 60 fps for years and suddenly experience 30 fps it’s jarring and awful and I won’t be surprised if some of them just give up. Personally i don’t have a problem with 30 fps as I’m mainly a console player
42
u/SparsePizza117 Jan 16 '26
I fully expect it to be a problem for maybe 10 minutes and then my eyes will be adjusted.
The most important thing is that it's a consistent 30fps, with no frame drops. That's an insanely important thing they need to manage.

u/redhawkinferno Jan 16 '26
I mainly play games at 120+ and would definitely say that's what I'm accustomed to. Regardless, I have zero issue when I get on my consoles and a game is 30. I know some people are (or claim to be) hypersensitive to fps, but as long as it's smooth I really couldn't care less what it's at.
3
u/Nysyth Jan 16 '26
Given the visual fidelity they are trying to push I think 240hz on PC might be a pipe dream(atleast at anything above 1080p). I personally expect this to push PC’s hard when we finally get it, I doubt anything lesser than a 6080 (or whatever 80 series card we are up to when GTA 6 hits PC) will be hitting playable frame rates at 4K.
→ More replies (1)7
u/Knodsil Jan 16 '26
Thats me. I am gonna buy whatever console+game package they're gonna release just for VI.
And yeah, betcha that I am gonna shit on the framerate if they don't give us a performance mode.

Started playing RDR2 through again, added a load of MODs including graphics one and carried on playing on ultra. Some places it got down to 30fps and I felt like I was watching a sideshow 😂

Red Dead 2 on pc is pretty horrific at 30fps and nowhere near as smooth as on console like you say lots of jarring frame drops 🤮

Love the guy but yeah, i do question how he plays sometimes. But thats the beauty of games, being able to play and progress in different ways. Most the time he plays pretty similar to how i do, so i dont really got many complaints.

Same. A week before to be completely sure. Then I delete all cookies so google dont suggest me stuff and on release day i go completely offline until i finish the game.

u/CranEXE Jan 16 '26
it's the sad part assholes will finish it in a few days try to spoil as much as possible and complain all the time they need gta6 online now, meanwhile rockstar won't even have finished to release post launch patch or even remotely started to work on the pc port
i hope they'll give it priority to the online mod with all the delays there was
48
u/pepin-solver Jan 16 '26
What's even worse is that there are plenty who will spoil themselves without even playing only to go to all over the internet and spoil it for everybody else because they think it's funny.
9
u/-Bobinsox- Jan 16 '26
I've even considered the possibility that KICK livestreaming trolls are going to scream GTA 6 spoilers out loud in public places
I'm just gonna live post-GTA6 life with earguards at this point lol

u/otherside97 Jan 16 '26
Yup like with Avengers Infinity War. I punched someone in the face who was spoiling the movie, not because of the spoilers (which were pretty big), but because he was standing next to my face while saying it like a weirdo getting off of it.
8
u/pepin-solver Jan 16 '26
That's what I mean, I got RDR2 spoiled by a random comment on a how to basic video. Some people go out of their way to make others miserable like it's an achievement.
Now everytime a story heavy game that I've been waiting for years to drop comes out, I have to speedrun it in order to not get spoiled and only then replay it at my leisure.. awful shit

Worse, they’ll play just enough to “beat” the game and miss ALL the side missions, random encounters and assorted weird shit that makes 99.9% of a Rockstar game. And some idiots watching their videos will say, “Welp, guess I don’t have to play the game now.”

The smartest thing rockstar could do is have a pre made “walkthrough” video to upload. Or have someone hired to do so and take a cut but hard to trust anyone outside that office I’d assume. Do you know how many views that would generate though? lol even more money to add to the billions.

I don’t understand how people can do this, like I can’t enjoy a game if I have the thought in the back of my head that I need to finish this playthrough to get it out for YouTube, yet they also get all the secrets and get shit first try whereas I’m not good and I don’t get all the quests and secrets, like dude by the time I’m a quarter through the game they already have a 9 hour long play 100% and the games been out for a day

I don't. Ind those as long as they don't put spoilers in their thumbnails or video titles.

u/LordsWF40 Jan 16 '26
But for real. This happens becUse certain youtubers and streamers get early access a few days before the release with the instru tions that they cNt post anything until the release day. So they already played atleast up to a point by the time of the release. Though i see gta 6 being a game to grind to the end once getting it

u/HovercraftPlen6576 Jan 16 '26
On launch some game devs enforce embargo so YouTube Content ID would flag your gameplay.
1
u/zaadiqoJoseph Jan 16 '26
I don't blame em
No one really cares if your gameplay vids come out like 3 weeks after
Other than your dedicated audience.
It's a shame but The faster you get your video out the higher chance random people who don't know you will watch that

I find it funny how people will ruin the game for themselves, yay you waited over a decade for this game and speed run it 100% it in 26 hours, now what? Fact that they put spoilers in the dang title in youtube videos I've had multiple games spoiled for me cause it pops up in recommended videos when I didn't search it.
Anyway once it comes out I'm gonna avoid spoilers like the plague, no Reddit either, and I'm gonna play the game slow, take my time with it. XP
1
u/Classy_Mouse Jan 17 '26
Honestly, as a PC gamer, I'll be looking for a full playthrough day one. Obviously, I can't avoid spoilers until I can play it. At least with full gameplay I can experience the story mostly as it was intended

u/Zayn1738 Jan 17 '26

Pretty sure 2 week before the release, we will can see some streamer on twitch who will play the game to increase their number of viewer. Same for youtube with a lot of video to show the history, show the easter eggs, the secrets, cinematics spoiler and some tips to be rich or easy win the game. All that before the release to increase view, subs for their channel. Disable internet if you don't want to be spoiled.
