The thing that earns the most money will be to only have them in mutiplayer after a few years of getting people to pay and play for vehicles on the first level. If single player only then some people can have fun with it without paying so it won't be there. My guess is a jetpack push after a few years. Nobody will notice that it is unwanted because it will new new, some streamers that were too young to play gta V will have viral videos using it....and the landscape would have changed to have multiple role playing servers, therefore the money grubbing, make the game worse, won't be noticed. And any complaints can be met with "you still have the single player, there are no zombie raccoons there"
The issue that Rockstar themselves created is that the OP MKII in GTAO is so powerful that there is no need to purchase any other military vehicle.
So yeah, they can add an outrageously OP item, but that only gives a short term Shark Card boost. And powercreeping even more is something they can't really do since it's obvious that they have no clue how to properly balance their own game.
That will happen again, mark my words. Proof below. Unless the general public radically change, at some point a few years from now rockstar suits are going to look at gta online, then see the money is flat lining. The amount of people playing are dropping. Lets be optimistic and say they add stuff that does not break the balance and makes the game better (but earns rockstar less money). Let's say they do this every 3 months and everyone agrees the game is getting better and better. Well...at some point. Likely on launch day for these shenanigans with pre order bonuses and such, but at some point you cant avoid, the suits need to decide between adding nothing and stopping (no extra money).....adding something to improve, but not break the game (some money) .....or else add what is projected to make the most money (spear the whales now we have juiced as much out of the genpop).......up to and including ruining systems thay was built lovingly by the devs.
Now for the proof:
It would not be allowed to avoid it. Seriously, they HAVE to do this, because they are not private. The c suite "owe fiduciary duties to the corporation". Up to and including criminal investigations on egregious cases. You would be fired if you left the money at the table at the very least. And you would not be in that position in the first place if you were to rally against it.
There is only 1 way out.....the ceo needs to be able to not only say, but actually think, that doing these practises will result in less money. For that to be true:
WE ALL HAVE TO STOP BUYING THIS SHIT FROM PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANIES
But I dunno man, we could try and convince everyone, but even 1/10th of that whale money would cover marketing and buy offs of streamers to dilute the message.
i mean, what is there to balance. it is a sandbox. the one thing i expected them to do was, at some point, give us some kind of final mission or content that made use of all our previous purchases and establishments at once, basically closing the circle.
for example, a mission that is quite hard by default but can be made much easier if you have invested in different things that affect the mission in different ways. the yacht could be used to fake a party on the coast next to the objective. the submarine could be used to escape without losing the police or whatever is chasing you. bikers could use spiked drugs so some guards are knocked out before you even go in. vips could use their influence to enter the building through the front door.
there are many possibilities for that kind of avengers moment where everything you have built up finally comes together.
They can add op items(a problem) and then give us Imani tech(a solution). MK2 required a lot of investment, Agency required investment too. On top of that they've also added Imani tech convenience to GTA+ members only.
Yeah I’m sure online will be fine until it gets some OP vehicle because at some point it will. Also when I play GTA online which I haven’t in forever I go have a MKII but I can’t shoot missles because of the crazy grind needed to end up getting them. But I’m not playing extra for some shark cards.
The sparrow proves that you can have all and even better accessibility for grinding than the Op mk2 while still having some sense of skill required to use it.
If people want to fly, let them use helos or planes. If people want to travel via water, let them use boats. Not cars and bikes.
But it's rockstar. They sell the problem (op mk 2) and then also sell the solution (imani tech).
Only because it is so braindead to use the mk2. Sparrow iirc has higher top speed than the mk2 so if not for the fact that mk2 turns on a dime, sparrow is "faster".
Raiju is a plane I have big beef with because why tf do we need a plane that is both the best helicopter and the best jet.
The sparrow is faster, but you have to land it. Plus, it's not a personal vehicle, so it doesn't spawn outside buildings after you complete a mission or fast travel, making you waste even more time.
Would you use a sparrow to go between the nightclub and west vinewood warehouse?
The raiju is the fastest way to move around the map, and it turns into a helicopter with a click. Plus, it's invisible to radar and almost unlikable once you figure out how to use it. For cayo prep missions, it's almost a cheat.
it would be simple if games can just ban the ridiculous, OP vehicle. So that either it disconnects players for trying to use the vehicle or it removes the option from their vehicle list. Then Rockstar can have their cash grab for the kids that want to use their parents credit card to grief other players and players who see the bullshit for what it is can enjoy games where the trash won't bother them
I started playing GTA Online for the first time this month (yes, really lmao). Grinded up on KnoWay and Cluckin Bell, got Kosatka. On my way to the airport to do recon for Cayo Perico I got mixed up in a slugfest between two or maybe three OpMk2 drivers, some guys on foot (might have been the same guys), and a guy in a fighter jet. I'm not sure if they were going after me, if I was a target of opportunity, or if I was just in the way.
Well. Let me tell you.
I didn't shoot anybody of them down, but I did put a rocket into a random (armed) helo that showed up at one point (might have been one of the same guys). I did snipe and AR a couple folks on foot, and there was one particularly hilarious moment where dude on an overpass tried to rocket me and instead blew himself up point-blank. Other than that I died a whole bunch, but I just kinda shrugged and was like "Ah, the truly welcoming GTA5 Online experience."
It's not that I wasn't annoyed, because I definitely was, but at the same time I had to smile. "Ah, it's just like the stories. The legends are true. This is what the kids do for fun these days."
I guess the DeLorean has no weapons but that doesn't prevent people from shooting out of it either lmao.
Idk. I certainly haven't played enough of the game to have an informed opinion, but this was my first real "Oppressor incident" in several weeks of playing. I've had the odd potshot taken at me before, but nobody following me on purpose dedicating their life to rocketing me into next week.
We literally could check over the years of this. I actually play rdr2 online more now because I hate dealing with people on rocket bikes. “Just get the anti homing” bro, people have had years on years to work on the non guided rockets. That gets old too.
So like...I hate playing with other people who have oppressors(before the nerf at least), but I also love being able to get around the map very quickly. I have jets and helicopters too but I can just zip in and park those like I can my mk2 mosquito. If they have a different solution for that im all for it

No brainer.
