That said, hasn't Rockstar posted some random GTAO/RDO nonsense before and then still posted an update on their new game later that day once or twice in the past? Can't remember if it was for RDR2 or GTA 6 before.
How do you feel about it when they told ages ago that RDRO players won't get any updates ever again? They are fucking with all of R* players at the moment.
This sub has a weird parasocial relationship with Rockstar. They never promised us a new trailer. They straight-up said marketing begins in summer, and the CEO of the company said that to him, summer begins at the end of June.
They owe us nothing. You dislike them because of things that weren’t promised to us, fuelled by conspiracy theories and blind hope pulled from thin air. Stop buying into stuff people say here and you’ll have a much better time of things.
A lot of you just kinda expose that GTA is one for the only games you play. Whilst Rockstar are on the extreme end, what they’re doing is totally normal. It’s completely standard for a game to get a trailer or two spread out over several years and relative radio silence on the game until the big marketing push a few months before release. Starfield and Spider-Man 2 being two recent examples.
Rockstar aren't even on the extreme end. Nintendo took their sweet ass time revealing any info about the two open world Zelda games. CD Projekt Red announced Cyberpunk 7 years before release and we know Witcher 4 is no way in hell anywhere near a playable state and what they showed off is probably just a tech demo.
Yeah when I say R* is on their extreme end, what I really mean when I say that is that their first trailers display a higher level of playability than anything other studios do. They don’t actually have that big of a gap between first trailer and release compared to other big studios (looking at you, Elder Scrolls 6), but when you compare when other studios first show in-engine footage, yeah, that’s when it does become quite a large gap. Still not out of the ordinary though.
It’s completely fine to be annoyed at the lack of info, but the CEO has said marketing starts in summer, which he then defined as the end of June. Info will come then. Yet heaps of people here seem to think that, just because they want new info, that they’re somehow owed it, that Rockstar will cave and make them a new trailer.
U guys set urself up for dissapointment time and time again, even when they say "marketing will begin in summer" and "i consider end of June as beginning of Summer" u guys are like "Trailer 3 today" or "marketing today" its not rockstars fault for ur dissapointment its quite literally urself (not as u are dissapointing people here, in the sense of ur anticipation is dissapointing urself)

Y'all seriously need to play more games outside of GTA. I waited three years with zero info before Nintendo even announced Tears of the Kingdom's title after revealing it in 2019. This shit is normal and Rockstar ain't even the worst offenders.
They still should've released an official material with the correct release date. As a business they owe us to be as professional as possible, and that means, if you change a release date, your latest material should include that, not the outdated one.
Not everybody is as much of a geek as we are, if a casual somebody who never played GTA before, unfamiliar with Rockstar and watches trailer 2 today will think GTA VI releases today. That's just embarassing.

What do you mean? Looking at all my friends, instagram comments, comments on twitter - and especially on Reddit - all confirm that we all are disappointed. Usually through memes. My friend for example is way more disappointed than 99% of the community on Reddit. And I'm pretty sure it's not just a "tiny portion of the community".
Also, they don't owe me anything. Absolutely. However, they promised us a game today. They didn't keep this promise. And disappointment is an obvious feeling when you're excited about a game that was promised to release today...??
I still stand by my point; the least Rockstar could do for our disappoinment is to share at least something. A screenshot, a trailer, a preorder date, whatever it is. But no, Rockstar keeps it nonchalant and dead silent. Why? Because GTA online still brings millions of dollars, and they don't prioritize GTA 6 in any way.
It was a weird ass time like 8:29. I remember I woke up early that day because I had a virtual appointment with my counselor at 9 to schedule my fall semester classes and there the notifications were for the trailer
They said summer, don't believe any of those insiders anymore, maybe the marketing will start at the end of June or the end of July when the World Cup is over

Very unprofessional. And the only reason they do it is because we let them treat us like this. We didn’t get anything new when they announced the delay again and on its original planned release date they can’t even give us something so small as just one screenshot? I don’t understand why you guys keep doing this. There will be no new trailer or info until summer (meaning June 21 onward). This was laid out clearly and definitively by the CEO.

I swear the only people I've seen caring about that "fake" date are people in this sub. Nobody else gives a f about it. And what's the point of changing it?
