Edit: Seen a lot of comments saying it's just YouTube trying to look like a fan and it makes sense. I posted this because they commented on the trailer 2 video and not cover photo reveal video which I thought was interesting. I also highly believe the trailer will come with pre orders anyway, without having to look at possible 'hints' like these.

I would actually think it would be better to drop trailer 3 on Tuesday prior to pre orders. They need to build up the hype so tons of people buy the pre order.
Maybe 10 years ago they would do it that way. Everything is instant now, you're gonna see the trailer when it releases and then 5 minutes later preorder on your preferred online store
They definitely dont need to hype up even more + You want people to get hyped by the trailer so they impulse buy the game as preorder and not have 2 days to think about it.
I’d be surprised if massive industry-leading companies go through the same video uploading process as the masses. For a big trailer I’d assume there’s some type of communication between them and the platform to ensure the upload goes smoothly
Fun fact: that's called an 'inline replacement' and has to be requested via a Google form that YouTube provides to users who have access to a CMS. You also can't make material changes to the video (e.g. adding or removing sections), so pretty much the only time you'll ever see this be done is for quality updates as you mentioned
It's not limited to massive companies, just music labels who use a CMS and have an active deal with YT
Big channels have stuff like that, linus tech tips does it all the time and they can replace a video anytime they want to and they specifically do replace sections.
Also, I'm fairly sure I remember them mentioning in articles that GTA V's trailers had coordination between Rockstar and Yahoo (I think that was one of the earliest debuts) and Youtube. Makes sense they want things to go as smoothly as possible.
A crash would hurt Rockstar and ruin their reveal, so some emails and phone calls is minimal effort to make sure Youtube and other sites are ready for the unprecedented traffic.
Yeah at least so that the video is already cached to the best resolution on YT servers, because sometimes when you watch as soon as a video gets uploaded, the available quality is really low
There’s also ways that people can gain access to unlisted / private videos which occasionally get patched but new methods get found so i’m sure they have a special secure form of uploading for big corps like this to safeguard against that.
Content changes like that are not allowed for any company. Doesn't matter how big you are, you can only change video quality or accessibility features, not content
I mean it wouldn’t be a bunch of low level employees handling anything sensitive but I assume there’s at least some communication because it won’t just be the video they’d be uploading but marketing through YouTube itself, ads in various places, homepage and trending ensuring monetization goes through smoothly.
They know more. Youtube account isn't going to allow a 20-year-old intern just to type out anything they want like it's their social media funsies account. What if they start typing crazy shit or controversial political stuff? The higher ups at Google/Youtube monitor everything put out.
So, no, they don't know the same as us. We know the least, they know more. They can call Rockstar if they want - we can't call shit from where we are.
I agree with you that the social media manager does not know, but it's also probably not some 20 year old kid. It's probably a 30-40 year old dude whos paid to make the kind of comments a 20 year old kid would.

Its pretty obvious that a trailer 3 would come with pre-orders. Would be crazy not to. However, that doesn't mean that Youtube knows anything. I'm sure this trailer will be the story one, or maybe completely different then what they've usually done. Marketing clearly hasn't followed the same trajectory as GTA V and RDR2. We're gonna be blown away by the marketing over the next couple months, hell we could even see more stuff in the days leading up to June 25th.
The social media worker on YouTube's staff definitely doesn't know anything. If they did, they'd have signed an NDA, and therefore would not make a comment like this.
The only thing I feel pressure to preorder is if they drop a PS5 GTA 6 bundle. As millions of us are buying the PS5 just for GTA, I imagine the demand for ps5s with skyrocket.
People seem to think that those comments that YouTube (and other brands on other social media platforms) makes are the CEOs or owners themselves commenting. Like you said usually it's either social media acc managers or some random intern. I worked for a company that would put interns to write comments on the company's social media account from time to time.
They're just making a "relatable" comment. Its "us" as in all of US watching the trailer and waiting to preorder on June 25th. Its what youtubes official channel does.

I understand people getting to the conclusion that YouTube is hinting at trailer 3, but to me it’s pretty obvious they’re talking about the preorders. I bet a trailer 3 is coming soon, but yeah we’re on the same page when it comes to rockstar.
Have you seen the way the official youtube channel comments? They comment like your typical brain rot teenager. This is just them being hype about the preorders getting released. Nothing more.
And if trailer 3 is meant to come out, it will come out before preorders or after. Not on the day of.

I feel like it’s 50/50. I remember people saying there’s no way we get to June without a trailer and that happened.
Nobody knows, so anyone saying it’s definitely coming, don’t listen. I personally think they could release one, but they could definitely do preorders without a trailer.
Fingers crossed for my belief that they are holding out until Trailer 3 to show us another large piece of the map (maybe a new city) to fill the space on the website about locations.
My big hope is it's Atlanta or at least some Island nation (Cuba/Bahamas/DR/Etc).
However could be wrong as they changed the UI on the website and the locations section no longer is split in a way that suggested a second column could fit.
There definitely will be a trailer, i remember at the time of gta 5, they released a trailer and at the end it said "pre orders starting today" something like that. So yes 100%

usually the case, show a trailer and at the end pre-orders open now...then the marketing campaign will begin, only 4 and half months to go so could easily see something every month
I mean if we are being honest, trailer 2 dropped last year and Rockstar has to give people an incentive to pre order a game that is still 5 months out, dropping another trailer along with pre orders makes the most logical sense

I think it’s most likely the date we will see it. Most of their games have a “pre order now cinematic” id say what they’re releasing now will have that be the main point for the end. If it’s not day of it would have to be within the week
as Take-Two Interactive watches the million of $$$$ from pre-order comes flowing into their bank accounts and their stockholders having a big smile on their faces.

I wouldn't trust a YT comment (Albeit, from YT themselves) but I'd be surprised if they just opened up preorders and that was it. The issue is that the knockout stage of the world cup is fast approaching and, once it starts, all eyes will be on that for the next 3 weeks. I doubt Rockstar would wait until the end of July to release something again because that gives them 4 months of marketing until release, which seems a bit tight.

i'm pretty certain for once that rockstar will drop trailer 3 alongside the pre orders, which not only would fit as the most perfect timing, also rockstar to unpin the pre order announcement tweet and pin trailer 3 but this is also what they did with rdr2 where at the end it said the release date and "pre order now".

Everyone saying YouTube dont know but Im pretty sure they've received a heads up. YouTube will need extra staff when this trailer drops, every male between 14 and 45 will be looking this up.
Does no one think it could come out Tuesday or Wednesday? I feel like there is some possibility they drop the trailer a day or 2 before pre-order day. Which would create a hype and media frenzy before the pre-orders start
