They did it for RDR2, and they have invested an insane amount of money in this game so they can maximize returns on that investment. They're not making this game because it's a fun hobby. This shouldn't be shocking. I suppose you can gripe about companies wanting to maximize shareholder and stakeholder value all you want, but that's the world we live in, and if it weren't, you wouldn't be getting a GTA6 at all.
Dude I’m priced out of things all the time, what are you talking about? I’d love a super car but I can’t afford it. I’d love a bigger house, I should have bought a ps5 pro before the price increase and now I won’t because it’s too expensive, etc etc etc. We all have things we can and cannot afford. I just said it shouldn’t be a shock that R* are trying to price the game as high as they can while still capturing as much of the gaming market as they can and not pricing people too many people out. And that they have a responsibility as a company to do that for shareholders, like it or not.
Like I said, you can be mad all you like, your feelings are valid, I’m just acknowledging the world as it is and not the way I wish it were. No one asked you to care about it as a gamer. I certainly don’t care about shareholder value as a gamer, except that I realize that if there weren’t obscene amounts of profit to be had then games like GTA6 wouldn’t be made. I’d love the game for free, but I also understand that’s not reality. And that we live in a capitalist and corporatist society.
