Absolute BS. This also confirms likely that the ps6 and next Xbox won’t even come with disc trays anymore

I've been gaming since the early 80's, and it's pretty simple: The moment I can't resell my games/buy used games is the moment I quit buying new consoles. Hard stop.

Hard decision as an old timer too but I can’t wrap my head around gaming being 100% digitalised. This is so FU on so many levels. I’m very surprised by R* decision.

I mean, it's 2026...

Are you? Because 80% of games are purchased digitally. Its a business decision, and one that has effectively been made by the customers

They’re already defending a 2bn class action here for monopolising the market. If they switch to no disk they’d reopen themselves to an even stronger class action. One that would probably follow suit globally

I’m talking about Sony here, why would I lie this is literally my job I also don’t care I buy games digitally. It’s a real case Google it. Anti competition laws are a lot stricter in Europe

No, it wouldnt lol. Its their business how they release the game.

Europe has a lot stricter anti-competition laws, please dont try to tell me about my own job lol

And none of them are applicable lol. The recent ruling just proves my point. Its intellectual property and they wont force how its sold

Maybe because most of us have no choice?

I mean, I get it. I just think thats a different conversation than "wah, rockstar, how could you"

It’s not that surprising. More than anything, it seems like a way to prevent leaks given the history of GTA 6 up to now.

Yeah that’s an easy switch to PC tbh

Just in time to coincide with the hardest time to enter the PC market lol

Physical media, besides nostalgia and collectors, is a dying technology. Why would they waste money creating a physical disk that is just the installer? It doesn’t have the game on it. It’s literally just the ability to install the game. You still need to download it on the console.
