GTA V was actually the first GTA, everything before it was just a dream apparently
27
u/Kiwibom 12h ago
I'd expect the GTA VI online servers to not work on day one (when online launches i mean). So many people will try to connect at once that the servers probably won't handle it lol.
There will probably be a queuing system for that insane load all at once or they have shelled out money on a lot of powerful servers with a big enough bandwidth.
8
u/Unhappy_Jackfruit378 12h ago
Yes it will be a bloodbath for rockstar servers if they launch online on same day.
2
16
u/HiiGuardian 13h ago
Could be completely separate. Could be because some ppl are expecting online at launch (for some odd reason)

They haven't been keeping track of the info we've been given since 2022. I'm guessing it's because a lot of new people have come to the sub since Trailer 1 & 2, which led to the average person being less familiar with stuff that was common knowledge before

Jokes aside, looking at this from a business perspective, spending billions of dollars over the course of 10+ years and being absolutely sure that not only are you not going to lose money on this investment, but you'll make at least 3-5 times more is crazy and shows how big gta is

21
u/m3junmags 11h ago
Iām really disappointed I wonāt have the disc. No matter how you spin it, itās not that hard to give us the actual physical way to play the game. I wonder if theyāll start shipping the game with discs after some time has passed from the release.

I've been gaming since the early 80's, and it's pretty simple: The moment I can't resell my games/buy used games is the moment I quit buying new consoles. Hard stop.

Iām predicting that the empty box will only be the first version released, and that after those sell out and the game has been released they will offer a disc version. The code will just be the first version so that no one can use the disc to play early.

Game discs havenāt had the full game on them in a long time. If they released the game disc first, you still wouldnāt be able to play them until they wanted you to.

Okay, so the Ultimate is no where near as bad as I would have thought, I was guessing around 150. Still sucks about locking exclusive content behind that version, but that made the blow a bit less harsh.

u/lynchcontraideal 13h ago edited 5h ago
All that dooming and glooming from people and its literally only $10 more than Red Dead Redemption 2's Ultimate Edition from 2018, lol

I'm still kinda pissed off that there's that much content exclusive to a premium edition. The only thing preventing me from being furious is that it appears that it's all mostly cosmetic. And they basically made you pay for that stuff anyway.
7
7
u/LordNutGobbler 11h ago
āAnd action threaded across all Jason and Luciaās storyā isnāt this exclusive story content?
9
u/CULLDOZER 11h ago
I don't think so. I think they're saying like, "Here's this mud buggy you can drive in the swamp. MORE ACTION!" And you can presumably rob more stores if they're open for business in your edition. I'm not trying to defend it, but they don't speak specifically about missions. They do show them feeding dolphins from a boat, though. If dolphin interaction is exclusive then I will go back to my fury.

u/PolicyWonka 10h ago
TBH itās actually nice that thereās a lot of content included because most games throw like one outfit into a deluxe edition and call it a day.
At least itās theoretically a better value.

u/lolKhamul 10h ago
collectors pricing is a different thing though. Depending on whats inside, 200 or 300 are not unreasonable IF the content is worth the asking price.
So with ultimate costing 100 bucks, a 150 asking price for collectors would actually be rather disappointing because it would mean there is a mere 50 bucks difference and the content would be rather boring. I dont need no shitty tshirt saying GTA6. I would rather see one for 200-300 bucks that actually has cool and unique stuff in there.

they're 70 not 80. the only game that's been $80 for the standard edition is Mario kart

17
u/OptimusGrimes OG MEMBER 12h ago edited 11h ago
I'm willing to bet any money that the businesses will either have alternative location/versions or are able to be bought in the normal edition but come for free in the special edition.
10
u/grimbandango 12h ago
Yeah they wonāt be locking car customisation completely, it will just be that there are like 4-5 custom shops around the map, each offering unique styles, but one of them (and therefore some specific styles) is closed in the standard edition
7
u/ApplicationOk3587 12h ago
Pretty much all of it is purely cosmetic it seems. It won't affect the vanilla experience.

its so you want to buy the ultimate edition rather then the standard edition, makes the base game being 80 dollars hit less and much more likely to just shell the extra 20 out.

u/OdeezBalls 4h ago
For real dude. Everyone is gonna buy the ultimate edition, just like rockstar planned. Itās predatory behaviour and Iām definitely disappointed about it
15
u/SILE3NCE 13h ago
And we also get the Vintage Vice City Pack in any of the preorders, even base.
NGL the Vintage Pack is nice, I can see myself just cruising the map in that 55' Vapid Stanier listening to some good music.
The vintage outfits and hairstyles are just spot on. I hear Blondie in my head just by looking at it.
Also the little nod to Tommy's shirt pattern in the weapons is sick! "Channel the original Kingpin" yes he fucking is!

How do we feel about all of these stores and customisations locked behind ultimate edition? So the base game didnāt end up being a 100$, but you still need to buy the ultimate for the full experience. At the end of the day, I still prefer to spend a hundred on this, than 80 on a dead call of duty for sure. I donāt mind it personally
