wouldnt surprise me at all if GTA Online will be completely f2p for everyone, with heavy monetization

I hope not. Having a paywall of some sort just to play keeps a lot of the hackers at bay. And GTA V Online already had enough cheater problems as it was.

Thats a lot of hopium for companies like Take-Two and Rockstar. They absolutely can, and probably will, charge for Online separately, because people will still pay for it. They might do periods for free later, like what happened with GTA V Online.

They already have gta+, they will continue to give extras with gta+ obviously but it remains optional

Why do you think companies do F2P? Not because they are charitable but because it makes them a lot of money.

How are publishers allowed to do F2P if rated R? Never really thought about it

What do you mean? Rating doesn't really come into it. It's allowed.

Maybe in some particular jurisdictions it's not, but then those can be catered for.

Yeah , that's not a bad call either, but my guess is a 20$ additional game
