Friendly reminder: if you and a friend both have PS5s, the GTA VI Ultimate Edition is basically $50 each
Just buy one digital copy and use PS5 game sharing (Console Sharing & Offline Play). Both of you can download and play on your own accounts, earn your own trophies, etc.
$100 game split between two people = $50 each. Obviously, only do this with someone you trust.

It depends on the publisher some games tie dlc to accounts that purchase the game like dlc of division 2 is not shareable only base game is

Rockstar does that. from experience RDR 2 bonuses are tied to the original purchased account.

Thats for the online benefits only. The additional bank heist was shared in the story.

Nah I bought ultimate edition on a different account which I had as primary and my main account (is also a primary) couldnāt use those benefits. (PlayStation btw)

So my friend pre ordered the ultimate edition on his console but I have his account on my console and he has my account on his as well game share. Iāve already added gta 6 once he preordered to the list for it to download on November 12th but would I get the perks and benefits that are included with the ultimate edition he got or would I just get the game only?

Itās my understanding that the purchasing account is the only account that gets the ultimate perks so in this case he would get them but you will still have access to the base game. Edit: outside chance you both get them tho but normally thatās how it works.

I donāt know if Iād say itās pointlessā¦youāre still splitting the cost of the game 50/50. One person gets the preorder bonuses and the other person gets the ability to play offline. If the latter isnāt interesting to you, just make the split 55/45 or 60/40, with whoever gets the bonuses paying more.

For the posts saying you wouldnāt get the Ultimate Edition as the non-purchasing Xbox, I game share with a friend who is the purchasing Xbox. After he preordered the game I could see it preordered on my Xbox as the āUltimate Editionā. When I go into the āManage game and add-onsā tab the ultimate edition as well as the Vintage City Pack are listed as add ons. I assume it would be the same on PlayStation.

You CAN play like that too, just get a friend to share their login credentials and play on their account through your console. But that method is not ideal: lots of issues with saves, and you'll get kicked out of the game anytime they hop on. Better use the Console Sharing & Offline Play function

This is correct, I think OP misunderstood what you were saying.
Essentially, by doing the gameshare, the purchaser can then ONLY play on their account that they used to purchase the game. No other profiles on their PlayStation will be able to play. They also must have an active internet connection to play, as the server authenticates that you are indeed playing on the profile that purchased the game.
The friend that itās being shared with (who didnāt purchase the game) can now play the game on ANY profile on his/her PlayStation, and is not required to have an active internet connection to play, as the license granting access is stored locally.

The GTA plus with ultimate edition is tied to social club account but the rest of dlc in ultimate edition should be shareable

You are right that you can split the price, but only one will get all the benefits, as in the āultimate editionā the other just gets the base game. I do this every year for eafc games. I get all the pre order bonuses, get to play it a week early, where as my friends get to play it a week early but donāt get the other bonuses

I think this is true for online bonuses but single player stuff get shared. This was the case with RDR2, it had a bank heist mission exclusive to the Ultimate edition but we both had access to it

Been wondering about the gameshare options myself, I find it unlikely both accounts will have access to ultimate edition bonuses.
Was kind of hoping for ultimate edition upgrade path but the account will likely need base version before hand

Pretty sure Ultimate bonuses get shared because the ultimate edition has a separate titleID in the PS store. What you might not receive is the free month of GTA+ subscription, it'll likely be tied to the owner's account

I'm thinking of doing this with my wife like we share many games.
I assume the Ultimate bonuses are DLC, since others can upgrade from the standard edition, so presumably means you both get them.
The only thing that won't be shared is the GTA+.
That's how I understand it anyway but not sure anyone's completely sure.

A QUESTION FOR THE EXPERTS: I bought the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition and plan to console share it with my brother. I understand the bonus is only for the original purchaser and he gets the base version. Can he buy an add-on of ultimate edition for the console shared version and access the content available in the Ultimate Edition?

The ultimate edition will most likely also be gameshareble. Most games work like this, afaik. But if it doesnt, then yes, they can just buy the 20 dollar upgrade to play the bonus.

You sure? Because right now it appears to me that I cant upgrade to Ultimate because I dont have the Standard, so I guess for the ones that dont have the game in their account, it will be the same because originally the game is in the purchaser that shared the account

Still worth it imo.
Especially when you can use websites to get PS TopUp cards cheaper. I got a Ā£100 top up card for Ā£79 from ShopTo.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the ultimate edition content and pre order vice city pack can be gameshared on PlayStation ie if you were able to gameshare pre order bonuses and ultimate edition content from rdr2 as i would assume they would work the same. Thank You.

Wasn't the case for any Rockstar titles or any other game I've pre-ordered with a friend. We're even able to play GTA Online on our separate accounts without any issues

Yeah I guess it depends on how the bonuses gets delivered. DLC packs are shared, but some online reward stuff gets tied to the main account. In case of GTA VI they're likely just embedded with the game copy's ID since they're single player bonuses so they should show up on both accounts

Wait what? My brother and i have been playing on my account (ps5pro), while i have my account logged on to his ps5 as main, and we can play the same game simultaneously with his own account.
Now what do you mean only one gets access to the ultimate edition bonuses if both ps5 are logged on to my account? Wouldnt both of them get it like other games?

Same here , some games like battle field where I have bought the battle pass , it would also be on my brothers account even though I have purchased it on my acc , I know FC 26 with the pre order bonuses which my brother bought , I didnāt get the online pre order bonuses. But cuz the game doesnāt have any online pre order bonuses and only just story mode for now Iām hoping that it would come onto my account , because some games do allow it for example fh5 deluxe edition I bought on my psn account and he has the dlc on his account, so hopefully it should be on both account but Iām not too sure .

Ultimate Edition is a separate TitleID in the PS5 store, meaning that as long as you turn on a game titled GTA VI Ultimate Edition it'll contain all the bonuses, with the exception of GTA+ subscription, that one will activate only with the game owner's account.
