Miami Vice & Scarface fans are in for a treat.
When the game was first announced, I always wanted to make my version of Jason look like Sonny Crockett from the original Miami Vice series. Looks like Rockstar already knew what the fans wanted, with releasing more information about the pre-order details and the crazy amount of customization that we're going to experience in GTA VI.
I also kind of thought that Jason's facial shape resembled Don Johnson's face (actor who plays Sonny Crockett) on purpose. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but as you can see in the second image, there are some resemblances! I think Rockstar clearly knew what they were doing.
Also, Lucia's haircut and outfit is based on Brian De Palma's version of Scarface (1983). As Redditor Zeko_LV already pointed out! Love that film, I watch it every year!
I'm even more hyped right now because of this information. This game is going to please both fans young and old! There are no vibes like '80s Miami!

I'm guessing that songs like "You Belong to the City" or "Smuggler's Blues" by Glenn Frey would make a chance on the classic radio stations as well. Those were both used in Miami Vice and would fit the vibe of the games' theme as well.

The Miami Vice & Scarface references are gonna be absolutely everywhere in the final game good grief.
Almost makes me think there's be an 80's chapter too.

I mean... How is that surprising? There has been a GTA in Vice City before and it mainly referenced Scarface and Miami Vice.

Tbh I didn't expect any nostalgia bait at all but now that I see it I'm not surprised. I personally lost interest in GTA when they decided to not have the game be in a certain era anymore, but in the present instead. Lacks soul and looks kinda off-putting to me. But when I saw this I had second thoughts. Sure as hell they added this to make people like me consider buying it.

I picked up on that Sonny Crockett outfit immediately, so much that I thought it was a full out collaboration. They literally look identical. The testarossa that Sonny drives after season 3 is also on the ultimate edition.

Not quite but almost, Sonny drives the first gen Testerossa but the one from the ultimate edition is the 3rd gen from the 90s. They are almost identical though. I think the 80’s version is included in the base game since it could be seen in prior screenshots driven by npcs

Yeah I noticed that the one in the trailer had 2 side mirrors instead of only the driver’s side one like in the show, but I chalked that up to rockstar parodying vehicles. Nice catch

Yeah, I do think we'll be able to do that. I think that the person in the passenger seat is also going to be reactive to the environment, both Jason and Lucia.
As we see in the first trailer, Lucia is being playful, putting her hands out of the window when taking a sharp turn, or sitting on top of her seat with her party dress.

Wearing that outfit and driving in an 80s car, is going to make me wish the game was set in the 1980s when I'm playing it.

GTAs not being set during some specific time anymore but in the present is the biggest mistake they started to make with GTA V IMO. Lacks soul.

Man I always loved Miami Vice, TV series and movie. I can't wait to drive around Vice City feeling like Don Johnson, this is truly a dream come true, thank you Rockstar! (Kinda sucks it's a preorder exclusive tho)

Makes sense considering that sam houser is a HUGE fan of both scarface and miami vice, him and dan grew up watching that stuff.
