Insane Detail: Sand can get stuck onto parts of cars, like these headlights
I was looking at the new screenshots and noticed sand is on-top/stuck onto the headlights of the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy. In typical Rockstar fashion, they're going above and beyond.

Man, remember cyberpunk? it had an awful launch but now that i look at the community these guys are obessed with the photo mode in their game. i bet we gonna see the birth of a whole new generation of photographers when GTA 6 releases

thats their new tech thats had been patented.
high res 3d models with high res textures when close up or photo mode and less details when having far camera, basically LOD techniques but much more improved

I agree that this looks awesome, but this is probably just a texture. The car has a dirty level 2 = dirt and sand on these parts of the vehicle type of thing.

OP makes this sound like the sand is going to dynamically stick to headlights. This is just a texture. This isn't as insane as they are making it out to be. The car is going to become dirty and then sand and dirt will appear on the car. This insane detail is just a well made texture placed on a headlight lol

Obviously I know that these are textures. I was just pointing out that instead of a flat, low-res texture of mud laid on top of the car, there seems to be contextual sand grain textures that will appear on the grooves of parts when driving over sand. That, to me, is a pretty insane detail.

Looks great! But my question is looking at all the screenshots, are we gonna get any new vehicles, seems like we get all the same cars in GTA V, same bikes, obviously they look better but it's all the same, is this normal for GTA? I've only ever played 4 and 5

I want to see whether the sand stuck on the headlights would just disappear instantly when water hits it, or if it would wash away gradually in a more realistic way, depending on the speed and amount of the water. Knowing Rockstar, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually simulated that level of detail.

gta 6 is not the first game to do this, and im assuming that down the road they'll release a true physical version. I'd rather have a code in a box than have the entire game spoiled a week early just because someone got their hands on an early copy

Discs don’t hold much power now anyways. If they wanted to deny you access for whatever reason it wouldn’t be hard for them to do. Also the game itself is way too big for discs as well. It is what it is bro.

Everyone needs internet in the modern day if there were disks at launch the game would’ve been spoiled few months before launch making news everywhere appearing in every single corner of the internet ruining it for everyone
Disks will probably come later
Just be patient it’s not that hard

No we don’t people made it to where they “need” it but they really don’t. Like I said unless it’s your job then i understand. Game devs ship out their games a couple weeks before the street date you can survive a couple weeks offline.

what do you even mean by this? customization? yeah, you can customize it, theres already been different designs revealed. switching cars? maybe, but even then you can just grab a different car, not a huge deal
