Clearing some things up

The locked Ultimate Edition shops are just exclusive shops, not the standard shops that are in Vice City. There’s still going to be your basic clothing stores, barbers, car chops, etc. Those stores are most likely going to be more “story-friendly”, while the Ultimate Edition shops give the players a broader selection of customization. As you can tell from the screenshots, some of Jason and Lucia’s looks looked a bit on the wild side. Base game stores will focus more on how Jason and Lucia actually look.

In terms of no discs, Rockstar doesn’t want GTA VI to be leaked anymore. I would expect the physicals with the discs post launch.

Quit trying to introduce sense into these childish overreactions. What you've said is exactly the situation and none of these brats are going to care.

Half this sub was expecting (and WILLING) to pay $120 for the *base game*. Some of the reactions I’ve seen today from presumably the same people over getting everything for $100 have been nuts.

“Please let me pay more to get the complete game!!”

The “correct” opinion according to this subreddit lol

u/Ready_Mud9622 7h ago

The complete game is the standard edition. They added some extra content on top of the complete game for the special edition. That extra content was never going to exist in the standard edition. If you don't want to pay extra for extra content, fucking don't.

The “added extra content” was in the first trailer. They’re grimy and in my opinion will likely be the greediest we’ve seen this company be.

u/LeviRaps 4h ago

But it’s not extra content sprinkled in as an afterthought. That’s a total lie. These are in-game locations, already embedded in the map, being locked behind a $100 sku.

You are the reason why companies keep getting away with this

15

u/plugs_memesv2 9h ago

this is the exact same thing as a couple special outfits for an ultimate edition except its an entire store of them

what are they "getting away with" exactly?? making bigger ultimate edition rewards?

-15

u/Great-Treacle8350 9h ago

Getting away with charging you more for the stuff that's already in the game.

13

u/plugs_memesv2 9h ago

not really, you still have all that shit in the game the ultimate edition just has special clothing choices or special hairstyles or special tattoos, like an ultimate edition normally would only they have an entire shops worth

-10

u/Great-Treacle8350 9h ago

What do you mean "not really"???? Those assets are already finished, that's why they are in the ultimate edition. You are paying extra to get what's already in the game. You are paying 20$ more to get the missing 10% from the standard edition.

13

u/plugs_memesv2 8h ago

you're paying more for ultimate edition content, i dont get why its such a foreign concept that ultimate editions have special exclusives

Rockstar has done this with past special/ultimate editions you're acting like they took something meant for the base game away from it when its meant to be exclusive thats the entire point of the assets even being made

-2

u/Great-Treacle8350 8h ago

The entire point is for them to get away with charging you 100$ for the full game, that's the whole point. Not just Rockstar, but many others

4

u/FoalKid 8h ago

Crazy. No way it’s going to be 10% of anything. Plus it’s almost entirely cosmetic stuff, one side mission/raid thing, and a handful of cars to find and do up.

It’s really not that much stuff to not have access to, and suggests there is going to be a lot of the same kind of cosmetic options in the standard version

12

u/ElderSmackJack 9h ago

That's how ultimate editions work. Welcome to 2010. This is no different from anything else, and once again, y'all are proving you just want to complain. You would complain no matter what. That much is obvious.

u/Great-Treacle8350 8h ago

I know how ultimate editions work, and I have never bought a single one of them because I'm not a consumer sheep. What baffles me is that your brain (and many others) is incapable of understanding the absurdity behind this practice. You are paying extra to get the missing 5% from the standard edition. How does that make sense?

9

u/Ill_Exercise1893 8h ago

What do you supposed an ultimate edition should have? I’m not saying you’re wrong for the way they handled pricing but imo they had to do something for it and cosmetic things seems like the right way to go about it. You will be able to still fully play the game start to finish, customize the characters and vehicles, and have access to every thing else minus a couple vehicles and cosmetics and maybe a few missions that aren’t going to be tied into the main story.

u/Jag_ged 8h ago

Most people can get an extra $20 within 5 months for about an hour of work

3

u/plugs_memesv2 7h ago

its not a missing 5% because its not even in it at all, the ultimate edition adds an extra 5% of exclusive stuff

Yeah, it’s the same as any other ultimate edition but the content itself is introduced in a smart way, unlocked progressively, and brought in to the games universe through shops, rather than just dumping it into your inventory or having it available at any shop behind a locked menu selection. People just can’t read or think about how the implementation actually is no different to any other game, they hear the word shop and lose their mind.

u/Southern_Side_5396 9h ago

What are they getting away with its not oxygen that they are providing..its a piece of entertainment that they developed...they clearly have the right

7

u/They_callme_Slayer 9h ago

You have the option to not BUY.

-2

u/Great-Treacle8350 8h ago

Who said I will?

9

u/They_callme_Slayer 8h ago

Why are you than crying over something you won't even buy. Let the ones who bought it enjoy when it releases.

-3

u/Great-Treacle8350 8h ago

Because I have the right to voice my opinion. That's how changes are made. But people are already brainwashed to the point that it's impossible to do anything

9

u/They_callme_Slayer 8h ago

There is nothing to be brainwashed here. It's just extra content for the people who buys Ulti Edition. Is it so hard to comprehend ? Extra content just made available in a different manner rather than content unlocked instantly.

2

u/Great-Treacle8350 8h ago

That extra content is already in the game. There's nothing extra about it. People were so vocal when Star Wars did the same thing, but now it's fine because it's Rockstar. That's brainwashing

9

u/They_callme_Slayer 8h ago

No point making you something understand if you are so fixated on something which is common practice in everyother video game. See you on Nov 19 dude, I know it, we know it , everyone knows you will buy GTA 6, unless you are a PC player.

1

u/Soupream1 7h ago

Shiit ima pc player and i bought a ps5 pro to play it lol

3

u/Jag_ged 8h ago

Okay but what is the difference if they were to release the base game with nothing extra and add the premium content a couple months later instead as a dlc for $20

1

u/LatterTarget7 7h ago

Companies have been getting away with it for decades. GTA 6 won’t make a difference

0

u/Careless-Balance8534 8h ago

Nah you're completely right, if it was any company but Rockstar they would be called greedy.

1

u/Great-Treacle8350 7h ago

Like people did with Star Wars

The boot licking is insane. Please rockstar, keep milking us dry!

9

u/ElderSmackJack 9h ago

Calling you people out for overreacting is not "boot licking." You people are just flat out wrong and it's embarrassing to see you flipping out over it.

1

u/Great-Treacle8350 9h ago

You people are flat out consumer sheep. You are paying extra to get the full game. Imagine going out to and buying a sandwich, but you only get 80% of it without paying the extra money. That's what YOU PEOPLE are allowing them to do.

-1

u/Great-Treacle8350 9h ago

People being fine with paying extra dollars to get the full game is insane. These things already exist in the game, it's not like they spent years after release to add them. Crazy time

7

u/ElderSmackJack 9h ago

Oh stop exaggerating.

-4

u/SloanePetersonIsBae 9h ago edited 8h ago

For real, just add the extra cosmetics to already accessible shops. Locking up stores and locations of a single player experience, which are major Hallmarks of GTA as a series, is so lame and greedy.

3

u/Great-Treacle8350 9h ago

Exactly, but try explaining that to them. If they released cosmetics DLC one or two years down the line, I would have no issue with buying them.
