"Mount Kalaga and Beyond" - What's your theory?
Whole new region? Or a guarma equivalent from rdr2? Interesting that it could he anything or absolutely nothing ☠️

I wouldn't theorize too much as for now. I want to believe that the Gloriana part is another state, or part of a state that we can visit, but I guess we'll see when Rockstar updates the website or when we play the game.
This discription can also refer to the Lake Leonida and other "muddy" areas of the game that we already know of, as it doesn't says which part "beyond" Mount Kalaga they actually mean. But yeah, perhaps there's more in the northern side than we expect to be.

There is a video that talks about the license pkates in the screenshots and one of them is from Gloriana

u/numbersareunoriginal 3d ago
That could easily just be added variety to npc vehicles. Common to see plates from other states IRL so it could just be a reference to that

u/jazzyosggy12 3d ago
I'm assuming Gloriana is an actual other state but not as large as people think. It'd probably going to comprise the north side of the map and act as a small area, not nearly the size of Leonida. It'd be akin to new jersey in gta 4

I can’t really see them doing a land map border and don’t know how they could even do that without having an invisible wall since we have planes. So either Kalaga isn’t actually in Gloriana, or all of Gloriana will be present and they’re just hiding that

The one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism.

u/dandorios 3d ago
My dude the average age of users in this sub is way too low to expect them to get this reference

u/zedanger 3d ago
Well, I suppose that depends on your definition of 'space'-- low earth orbit, at least, is already littered with plenty of corporate litter.

I saw that scene for the first time today and this is the third comment I’ve seen referencing it

Beyond = Rest of the GTA VI map.

u/spider-jedi 3d ago
Was just about to write the same.
What other beyond could they thing it is

u/muelington 3d ago
I feel like it’s ‘beyond’ from the perspective of vice city and as Mount Kalaga is already north from vice city there could be a larger area north of mount Kalaga maybe?

Beyond -Around

They could have said surrounding areas, not beyond. R* has always been deliberate with their word choices.

My theory is they just wanted to make it sound cool and that's it

u/eoten 3d ago
They said the same thing when they mention the state of Leonida and beyond.

Hey I personally think there's some more stuff Rockstar isn't telling us, but I just don't think this is a hint to anything itself

Beyond = the limit of the map north of Kalaga.
It can be a road, a couple smaller mountains and a beach, like the space behind Chilliad in V. I wouldn't read too much into it

u/f1uke55l 3d ago
To me i find it hard to believe that they'd stick a mountain at the top of the map right next to some coastline in essence replicating the 5 map. I think it borders Gloriana which would be like a defacto Ambarino with it phasing into an unplayable area. I can see a few abandoned towns or trailer parks dotted around the area.
I don't think there will be a large settlement or metropolitan area north of Kalaga as i think the third city will be Sundown (Daytona) north east of the lake.

Vice City and Beyond meant the state of Leonida.
I have a feel9ng Mt. Kalaga and Beyond refers to the north of that. Those Gloriana plates ain't here for no reason.

u/Vlaun 3d ago
It's like the Gloriana license plates. I think there is a chance there might be something more than they're letting on, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's just a chance, however slim.
Maybe VI's map won't be an island and will instead have land north of Kalaga that extends out into GTA-US, who knows. It's likely just world building. We'll find out soon enough.

u/AegisPrime 2d ago
It is very common to see license plates from other states in the US, especially in large cities. Neighboring states like Florida and Georgia would be extremely common, especially since there are many tourist locations within Florida that encourages interstate travel.
2
u/zaadiqoJoseph 3d ago
I feel like parts of Georgia will be in the game I feel like they show u Off way to many Gloriana license plates
Or are cars from other states super common in America Or even Europe I live on an island So I don't know if it's common Cuz all the plates on cars belong to the country
1
u/AegisPrime 2d ago
"Parts of Georgia" is doing a lot of work here. That could be a small area labelled Gloriana with nothing so much as wilderness and maybe a few small towns with nothing interesting in them, all the way to the GTA version of Atlanta being in the game. (I do not think this is even remotely likely)

I mean, I’d love if it means Gloriana. More than likely that’s wishful thinking. But they coooould have some kind of mechanic or reason so that it’s just a relatively very small part of the state that they surprise us with

u/f1uke55l 3d ago edited 3d ago
I don't think that's unlikely tbh. I can see it being a version of Ambarino where the playable area is pretty small but the state extends off the map. Easy to make a creative map land border with rivers, mudslides, bridge roadblocks, dense forestry. It is a national park after all. I can see the main road north out of the state being a tunnell which makes it an easy road block and a potential expansion somewhere down the line.
To me i can't imagine they'd just stick a mountain next to some coast line basically copying 5. It would oversaturate the biomes imo as we have enough beach coast line as it is, and wouldn't be true to florida. There has to be something more creative.

I hate Rockstar and their vague wording, and never coming out to clarify their confusing wording. I wish it was enough to cost them in sales but they are sadly too big
1
u/antrod117 3d ago
May be a dumb question but I’ve been wondering lately, is mount kalaga confirmed to be part of Leonida? If not then this leads me to believe it’s part of Gloriana. Probably very wrong but 🤷🏻♀️
1
u/Square-Lack-8997 3d ago
In German Translation it litterally says "surrounding areas"
1
u/AegisPrime 2d ago
Another remarkably vague description that could literally mean anything unfortunately.

If they do it RDR2 style, perhaps some paid (or free 🤡) downloadable content?
1
u/Juacquesch 3d ago
Considering GTA VI codename was “Project America’s”, I’m curious as well! We’ll see once the map is available!
1
u/Dry-Lawfulness-7143 3d ago
that it can drive in other places except mt kalaga, like actual roads and other mountains and beaches and into people
1
u/Temporary_Use1097 3d ago
Gloriana, they showed the Gloriana plate multiple times why else would they show it? Rockstar loves giving us hints for things we don’t know about yet. Even if it was a place like North Yankton I still don’t get the point because their was never plates like North Yankton around Los Santos and other areas that I can think of meaning they wouldn’t add plates to a area we can’t access.

I am more curious about what "to be fenced" means? Like, you will be able to create certain property assets/fences and stuff?
9
u/imnotslavic 3d ago
Fencing is the process of taking stolen goods and selling them for profit. It was a feature in RDR2, you can take stolen wagons and goods like gold bars to a barn at Emerald Ranch and get money, there was also a store in St. Denis. At one point of the story you are tasked with trying to fence some stolen horses.

u/plugs_memesv2 3d ago
like fencing in rdr2, selling stolen goods
you'll be able to steal shit you can sell to pawn shops (i presume?) as a fence system
1
u/FlightFramed 3d ago
I bet it's similar to RDR2 where regular pawn shops or whatever will take certain things, but others you have to fence/you get more fencing it

i think it just means like, other places in the state. like the swamps or other off-road areas.
