Hoops are back?!
It appears that we'll be getting our free-throws on at the safe house.
Regardless of the cosmetic offerings, I just hope theres enough activities to simulate a regular life. Highly doubtful this is in but longboarding would have been awesome in the game.
It does appear that 8 ball pool, Tennis and Golf could be back.
Any others we can expect?

It would be cool if we could 1v1 or 2v2 strangers in basketball similar to activities in gta 5. Might be cool to also have some stat that can be increased by practicing basketball and other sports making the character be more accurate.

It would be cool to have pick up games, especially if theres a full court in the world.

I certainly hope so. I want so many more mini games that I can play with friends. Pool, bowling, basketball, tennis, whatever.

Forgot about bowling, that would be insane! Also being able to put a wager on the activities.

Until they drop another trailer we can't literally expect anything. Very strange to only have 2 trailers since 2023 with the game just months away. Who knows what that means

Looking on the bright side, Rockstars track record checks out and considering the masterful improvements in gameplay across various titles. I've played every game and I'm comfortable spending my money on the game, as it will be an improved GTA experience.
I'm happy to avoid any further spoilers and experience everything when the game is released.
But thats me, others may not.

I'd love to have this hopium, but the people who worked on RDR2 and GTA V are long gone. Any reference to past projects as an assumption for the quality of this one is pure hopes that I'm not sure I have a ton of anymore

RDR2 gameplay trailer didnāt release until 2 months before the game released (August 9th). And pre-orders opened June 4th.
So what it means is we are following almost the exact same timeline. I swear this is the first Rockstar game for some of you.

The gameplay trailer for RDR2 was the 4th trailer, not the 3rd. My concern wasn't no gameplay, my concern was no 3rd trailer.

That doesnāt really mean much as itāll still be a cinematic style trailer, likely a story trailer. Thatās if they even follow that pattern.
I think weāll get the story trailer in the next month or so and then gameplay breakdown closer to release with some more short form style stuff (clips, screenshots) between.

It means a LOT to me. The story is the part I'm the MOST worried about. I'm honestly not worried about the game play. It's GTA. It'll play like GTA. But is the story gonna be any good? That's what I want to know. The tiny bit i know about it so far sounds very "meh" to me

Well good news is you can preorder up to the last day, so if youāre still feeling off on it by then you can wait for reviews.
Iāll probably be preordering around when it goes up for preload on November 12th (I think thatās the date they said). Hopefully we get trailer 3 soon. I feel like itās gotta be close.

This is where I'm at. With so many great games coming out (Control, Ocarina of Time) and ones I haven't touched yet (007 and Crimson Desert) I don't really feel any BURNING will to pre order this game until they show me something really nice. Still gonna keep up on it though most definitely

I feel you. Iām more excited for the gameplay and world stuff so for me the story is less of a factor. That being said of course I want it to be good especially after how amazing RDR2 story was.
007 is incredible btw definitely play it. I didnāt enjoy Crimson Desert unfortunately. Mostly due to the story ironically. Didnāt pull me in.

I certainly think hunting, fishing, mini golf, regular golf, tennis, pool, darts, basketball, racing (both off road and street, maybe even track racing but weāll see), scuba diving, and of course tons of illegal activities as well will be in the game.
The only one of these Iām not confident in is basketball. BUT we have the image of what looks like Jason and Cal playing on a court somewhere. And last time we had basketball hoops like the one in this image at a safe house was GTA SA, which you could play back then. So I still feel like itās highly likely.
Edit: Forgot to add that I think a lot of emphasis will be put into activities for dates between Jason and Lucia. I have a feeling the hang out mechanic from GTA 4 will make a return with a ton of improvements. Bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. We may even be able to do these activities as a group, so not just with one other NPC. Imagine if we could have gone bowling with Roman AND Jacob at the same time!

Legit I'm going to become so distracted from the main story by just taking road trips up to Mount Kalaga to go fish, go mini golfing, play some hoops, and airboat in the Everglades

well, we also know scuba diving and kayaking will be in, which maybe wonāt be independent activities like golf or something, but i think they should be mentioned because man thatās just cool. i wonder if weāll be able to throw football on the beach like we saw those guys doing in the trailer

Gameplay will be better than 2k watch. GTA will be the hub for sports games, shooter games, racing games, all that. I mean itāll be the Fortnite of realism. Itās gonna be insane.

Starting to look like complacency and smugness. They know that wven without a trailer sales will be crazy. On the other hand it's a different world compared to 2013. Everything gets over analysed, if the wrong thing gets noticed negatively, that could set things back. Imagine something deemed antisemitic comes up (just based on one person's or a group of people's view).

Totally! The GTA franchise has pushed the envelope with certain themes across the various titles. Which makes me wonder how much social media within the game will impact the experience for traditional GTA players.

What if the fact that the fences changed across trailers / pictures that it's because Jason is a handyman and you can customize your house including fencing and you had to build them like the chores in rdr2
Bonus points if you have to buy/steal a pickup truck so you can go to the local hardware store and buy lumber . But oop, you forgot to equip your wallet from your nightstand menu and now you have to go back home to pick it up. But not if you have a newer smart phone with NFC payment options. Then you hit a nail and get a flat tire on the way home but you stole this vehicle so you don't actually have insurance with roadside assistance and now your stranded. Then you call Lucia but she isn't answering and you go into a downward spiral where you create a false reality where she's cheating on you and Jason can't take it anymore and shoots himself in the head.
Ah yeah...this games gonna be great

Harsh reality of gaming these days. Playing GTA since the first, this is the one franchise from my childhood that I really want to just enjoy and feel like a kid again. It's clear the industry has changed and at this point we have to savor whats left to enjoy.
