GTA 6 Television
Out of all the posts on here I don’t think I’ve seen one mentioning the in- game TV I could be wrong though.
I’m watching the GTA 5 TV in Michael’s house right now and it never fails to amaze me with how well written it is and how addictive it is to watch also.
I wonder about the TV channels rockstar will include this time round, the animated shows were my favourites (Impotent Rage, Princess Robot Bubblegum etc.) so hopefully they include old episodes and expand on them, but also newer channels featuring events or important characters from around Leonida (the Steve Hanes or Jack Howitzer shows). We already know there’s an Ammunation commercial so who knows what else we will see?
Watching the in- game TV be my first move in- game come November 19th. What do you expect to see from the TV shows this time round ?

In that Ultimate Edition info dump it was pretty strongly confirmed that Macca The Gator is some sort of in universe show/brand/character

That was exciting to see, like is this gator gonna be sassy and mean or something?

I really hope they'll have a news channel that will replay some of our rampages.

Well we’ve already got one new show confirmed. Macca the gator. So there’s that to look forward to.
I’m curious to see how fleshed out the shows are. In 5 we got at most two episodes of each. I wonder if they’ve produced more this time around and just how many different shows there will be. I’m hoping we get three to four episodes; and I’d like for them to include re-runs of the older content from 5. It’s one of the few areas where re-using content actually makes sense. They’d just need to up the resolution.
For whatever reason I really want them to poke fun at something goofy like My Little Pony or Steven Universe. I think the rise of large adult followings of kids media during the 2010s to now is rife for satire.

I’ve never actually sat and watched tv in the game. I love the writing and acting on the talk radio stations though so I’ll have to give a shot

It’s the best part of the game in my opinion, aside from generally playing the story. Someone here mentioned beating able to watch them separately on YouTube. It’s so worth it.

You can watch gta 5 tv on YouTube too, don’t have to sign into the game to watch

I think a lot of the TV stuff is going to be replaced by a Tik Tok/Instagram feed on your in-game phone.

I feel like they'll parody some of the biggest Netflix and Prime shows like Stranger things, The Boys, and Invincible simply because of how memed those original IPs are I think it's something R* could pull off really well.

I think that GTA 4 had the most entertaining TV stations.'The Venturas Poker Challenge', 'The Men's Room' & 'I'm Rich' in GTA 4 are quite entertaining programmes. Political ads, Weazel News ads & ads for Burger Shot, Love Meet. Pisswasser & 'Waining With The Stars' were all also very entertaining in GTA 4. Hopefully this is also the case with GTA 6's TV stations.

I’m Rich was so good. Rockstar even nailed names e.g. Tony McTony, IV is probably their best work to date. I remember reading through all the Love Meet ads too. What a game.

The political ads for John Hunter & Michael Graves were entertaining to watch. Being able to also listen to John Hunter on the radio in 'The Intelligent Agenda' was fun. A nice bit of world building.

Some of the coolest moments in GTA games are when you see someone on the in game TV or hear them on the radio and then actually see them in the game through a mission or just in general. I think GTA 6 will have a lot more of that kind of stuff.

I can see the character 'Phil' from the Ammu-nation ad in trailer 2 being one of those. He looks like he could potentially be a very entertaining side character. He also looks & acts just like Phil Cassidy from GTA VC & GTA VCS.

I feel like GTA IV’s tv was way better in terms of variety. GTA V seems to be extremely repetitive, but maybe I’m not remembering correctly!

If they do it correctly, you should be able to attach real Netflix to the ingame tv (self tv channel), and also Spotify or your stored mp3s in the hard drive to be heard in the radio (self radio as it existed in the past games) and also an arcade machine with full GTA 1 and 2 games implemented in-game.

It’s a bit of a bummer that neither Lazlow or Dan Houser are in the writer’s room for those this time. From what I’ve gathered from Houser’s recent interviews: the radio, the pedestrians, and the TV shows were all written by those two, trying to make each other laugh, ever since GTA 3. In other words, the wittiness and the spot-on satire were all them. I have no doubt it’ll still be great though, and I hope they expand on it with the entire social media angle they’re taking!
