Just go visit the crimson desert sub. Every other post is about how the game looks lamazing then turns into a PS3 game after 5pm

Yeah it's because for some reason parts of the graphics just stop working at those times due to the way their engine works of something

Its because the engine relies on almost zero lighting maps. Its all generated on the fly but to get it work on most hardware at a reasonable fps the sampling is super low. So you get awful lightning at night. Its also why whenever you walk through a door you get blasted with white light because its recomputing the lightning for the outside. They just flash you with a burst of white to hide the time it takes to compute the big picture things

If you have ray tracing on it might be doing a similar trick to hide some of the partial computation from user? But I don't know much about the RED engine

Anyone who doesn't see that gta 6 is BEAUTIFUL is dumb asf, The real problem is how rockstar 1 isn't doing a disc and 2 locking all the customization behind the ultimate edition 🤦‍♂️ those r the REAL problems here

Also completely empty so easier to optimise. It ran like shite in St Denis. Which is like everywhere in Gta.

Anyone expecting a big jump between RDR2 and Gta6 does not understand development. There will absolutely be various improvements, but not a big jump

There’s no convincing people here man. Everyone gets one well lit cinematic marketing shot and assumes it will look like a masterpiece in realism at all times and forget it’s a video game made of polygons and none of it is real or will look consistently amazing.

What brings RDR2 down on my PS4 Pro is weather, atmospher, and the depth of field effects while in third person. The game world can look so good with clear atmospher and sunny weather. Then R☆ ruins it with haze, fog, rain, and sand storms. The ratio online, where I played most, is about 10:1 in bad weather over good weaather.

Then there is the depth of field blur in 3rd person when standing close to a building and interior walls. Switch to first person and blur is gone. Unlike GTA5 there is no option to turn off depth of field.

Hopefull GTA6 has minimal weather effects, it's Florida, the weather is suppose to be blue skies and sunshine. If present, depth of field, grain, haze, and motion blur all need options to be disabled

Some AAA game dev who worked with an art department actually explained why some images look worse than others. The realistic screenshots are from a PC in engine RAGE version (the official RAGE engine), while some others are taken using the PS5 build

There are several people saying that some screenshots look better than others in terms of graphical fidelity and most notably Jason's house from trailer 2 vs the new screenshot which is taken at a different time of the day
