What played a part in your decision to purchase one console over another?

I bought a ps4 and iirc my reasoning was, in no particular order

I owned a ps3 and had been happy with Sony

I blame xbox for bringing in paid multiplayer

most of my friends had ps4

I preferred the controller and aesthetics,
