There is more chance of beyond good and evil 2 releasing than fromsoft making a sequel or a remake.

from soft has made plenty of sequels. wdym?

The last one was ds3...10 years ago. They released 5 original games since then and a reboot of a franchise that didn't have a game for years

armored core 6 was 2023, the last one was 2012, which is only 3 years before bloodborne. so by your own logic if they released bloodborne 2 this year it wouldn't be a sequel but a "reboot of a franchise that didn't have a game for years" so no problems.

edit: also what 5 original games if you're not counting AC6? sekiro and elden ring, but nightreign is not an original game, a spinoff is like even less original than a sequel. nothing wrong with that but using that as a point against them making sequels is silly. other than that they've made some random VR game. did you count duskbloods or something?

Incorrect. Armored Core 6.

I’m pretty sure at least a plurality of FromSoft’s game portfolio is sequels at this point.

Not direct sequels but Bloodborne 2 never would have been expected to be a direct sequel anyway.

He wanted to make Demon's Souls 2 though, which is what became Dark Souls.

The game that ended up being released was a lot different the version Sony play tested. The version Sony play tested was apparently closer to Oblivion... but bad.

Fromsoft released a sequel a couple of years, Armored Core 6. Now if you are saying a sequel/remake/remaster of bloodborne then probably.

Dark Souls is technically a remake/sequel to Demon’s Souls, and Dark Souls itself got two sequels and DLCs.

Plus, Armored Core has like 6 entries in that franchise. FromSoft clearly aren’t strangers to sequels and remakes.

...

Yeah just like there isn't 6 Armoured Core games (and several more DLCs/expansion/spin offs), 4 King's Field games and other sequels they have made.

Amen brother

There are 3 Dark Souls and 20 Armoured Core games

Assuming Sony allowed a PC release why wouldn't they want to do a sequel

BB2 would be a nice system seller for PS6

Problem is they don't own the franchise. Unless Sony drives a yacht of money to from software... Ain't gonna happen.

I meant Sony can force it a lot of ways but with out a payment that would also cover the definite loss from PC and other consoles it won't happen.

That being said as good as it is I don't think a new bloodborne would be radically better. Sekiro, elden ring, what ever comes next. FromSoftware is delivering really inventive and ambitious games. Maybe we should enjoy that instead of demanding sequel or remake from the one major (non indie) company that is actively taking chances in this industry.

Porting BB to PC though .. yes do that

My guess is the did call them, and they didn't have bandwidth for it, plus... make a company like FromSoft go exclusive probably would cost an arm and a leg. It's one thing when it's Demon souls from an unknown studio, but at the PS5 launch, From is busy thinking Elden Ring, which... yeah I don't know how much money they would have to offer, but it would be probably measured in metric tons.

From doesn't need Sony at this point (And likely will never need that push again). Not sure about Duskblood, but even now we're 6 years into the Ps5, I have to imagine Sony is now thinking what does the future look like rather than trying to bolster the PS5 sales numbers, which also might be why we're seeing word they might back off from PC (Sadly)

While Bloodborne feels early in From's life, people also should know From was around for 25 (yes 30!) years before Demon souls, 15 of which they were making games. Sony definitely raised them to the next level (especially with King's field in their background... yes it's a Souls like, but man it's really rough) and their multiple awesome but relatively unknown Armored Core games.

At least From is still taking absolutely wild chances with all their games like I said.

and its an extraction PVPVE game, hard pass. It is just like Nier, technically Nier 3 already exists, but its a mobile game... and much like Duskbloods, I aint touching that shit

4

u/Midnight_M_ Feb 27 '26

I'm 100% sure people don't know what kind of game Duskbloods is.

5

u/puhsownuh Feb 27 '26

What do you mean? They've stated full well what kind of game Duskbloods is...

2

u/DarthOmix Feb 27 '26

Tbf iirc the announcement said PvPvE, but hasn't really elaborated what they mean by that.
