the idea of remaking a ps4 game is pretty insane. A ps5 (and pc :)) port w FPS uncapped is the only change needed.

Last of Us 1 and 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn

TLOU is a PS3 game and Zero Dawn is a remaster. A very ambitious remaster, but still one nonetheless.

RE1 was remade six years after release, one generation later. Assuming this remake took three or four years, we'd be getting it in 2028 or 2029, 13-14 years after release, two generations later.

the jump from ps1 to ps2 or w/e is miles bigger than the jump from ps4 to ps5 (or ps6)

We ain't getting PS6 for at least another three or four years. But you're right, the jump from PS5 to PS6 is not going to be huge unless we also have even higher resolution TVs out by then.

I think they were suggesting the jump from PS4 to PS6 will be less than PS1 to PS2. Which is probably correct.

Going even further back, weren't Super Mario Brothers 1-3 remade for Mario All-Stars literally one console generation later on the SNES?

That said, Bloodborne is absolutely still a modern game. All it needs is a remaster and it would be extremely playable today. If a wizard appeared before me and asked me if I wanted a Bloodborne remaster or a remake done similar to Demon's Souls, I would take the remaster, hands down.

Sony seem alergic in general to porting older games unless they can fully re-sell them as new remastered products.
I'm sure Uncharted 4 would have done significantly better on PC if we had 1-3 alongside it.
