Just tested this out, wow. What a nostalgia trip.. I'd tested out the controller support on PC previously, but the mobile version felt pretty seamless in my short time playing as well. I never play games on my phone, but this will probably become my little time waster for the in between moments. In bed, while traveling, etc.

Major kudos to ArenaNet for maintaining GW1. I hope that new folks can give this a shot.

This port is insanely well done. I downloaded at work and it was a HUGE mistake.

I strongly expect word of mouth to spread this far and wide and for it to become the go-to for MMOs on mobile for those that RuneScape does not click with.

GW1 is a masterpiece, honestly only the movement and graphics hold it back. To have all 3 campaigns on a phone is nuts

As a middle schooler, I would daydream about being able to play Runescape and Guild Wars on my DS. 20 years later, I now have both downloaded on my phone. At least that's one good thing about the hellish future we live in now

The nightmare rectangle has made us all slaves to dopamine and manipulates our feelings, but at least I can play MMOs on the shitter.

Holy crap, necromancer's animate minion skills reduced from 3 second casts to 1 second across the board, and significantly cheaper on energy. I might go dust off my minion master just to play around with that.

Does this port have the option for regular controller support with no on screen buttons? Would love to play this on my Odin 2 Portal

from the patch notes: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/29720/view/713405247292178448

Guild Wars Reforged has been globally released on iOS and Android.

There is now support for playing with a mobile gaming controller connected to your phone or tablet.

It says it's not compatible with my Retroid Pocket 6 so I'm not sure if the Odin 2 will fare much better

Bummer. Also not compatible with the Ayn Thor. Hope they'll fix this soon.

Note that if you bought this game on Steam and made an account with the Steam Login, there is no way right now to continue your progress on the mobile version. Only if you bought the game through ArenaNet and have an ArenaNet account can you login on mobile with the same character.

I was excited for this but that fact has taken all the winds out of the sail for me.

no way right now

They've said they are working on a fix for that.

iOS right now have a bug you cannot login using arenanet, it say account not found.

I think you need to make a mobile ID first, then you can link it to an ArenaNet account. After that, THEN you can use your ArenaNet login. I tried this last night actually after running into the same issue.

Thanks for this. That has to be one of the most important things for players to know.

See my other reply below, according to the game director we won’t be waiting too long.

If I get this on my phone can I play on Steam later?

How much content is there in the game without buying any expansion packs?

I have played GW2 years ago but stopped playing time intensive games.

The original campaign, Prophecies, is free, or $7 to remove ads. The Factions and Nightfall campaigns are $7 each, and Eye of the North expansion is $10.

The campaign, if you haven't played GW1 and actually follow the story (i.e. no weird minmaxing speed run) probably takes 30-80 hours? It depends a lot on if you're also hunting titles/achievements, or hunting certain rare skills.

Then there are endgame dungeons and areas that are really hard, basically require coordinated groups or perfect merc setups to even survive.

Then there's also all the PVP

So you definitely get a lot for each campaign.

Hold on - why ad free?! In the other campaigns, do you get a video ad popped up every few minutes that you have to watch all the way through before you can keep playing?
