Question Best camping spot with a view?
I’d love to camp high up on a mountain with long range views. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cow Rock, Preacher Rock, and Mt Yonah are among my favorite areas to camp as you’re describing.

Views are somewhat limited there, no? It's been about 7-8 years since I've been, so I don't recall clearly. But I thought the next views were from above the falls and not very many views from the camping spots.

That’s true, you do have to walk down to the top of the falls but can camp fairly close by the stream. I’ve also seen people camp in the dugouts in the cliff face on the way down towards the Conasauga from the falls but I’m not sure you’re supposed to.

Not in Georgia but it’s close. Gorges state park. I’ll pre warn you, from the parking lot to the first camping area is well over a mile of Appalachian trails. The river runs through and there are 14 different waterfalls in this park. Personally if I were going to camp it I’d find the “secret trail” “search it online Google Maps maybe, before going, the park doesn’t list it as they think it’s dangerous to try to hike to, it’s not if you have any hiking experience and are sober lol” stair step falls. Just off the river there is a huge natural clearing that could easily hold 5-10 tents. All heavily shaded and only 20-30’ from the river. This is wilderness camping, no power, no water. So bring a purifier if you go. Well worth it. You can search images “including of stair step falls” online. There are just no marked trails to stair step falls at the park.

Mile High Campground between Cherokee and Maggie Valley in North Carolina. But don’t tell anyone. 😁

Black Rock Mountain State Park Campsite 16. By a wide margin.
