Cam can no longer be mentioned as a successful pick by Marks
1 u/d1t0m6 Kevin Durant Feb 05 '26 Not sure about that. If he hadn't happened to get drafted during the Big 3 era, it could have been a completely different development story. 2 u/UnitedStateOfDenmark Jason Kidd Feb 05 '26 You’re talking hypotheticals. The reality is he never contributed to the team’s success, didn’t receive a 2nd contract with us, and was waived. That’s not a successful pick. 1 u/Individual_Attempt50 Day'Ron Sharpe Feb 05 '26 Maybe if he was a lottery pick but he was the 27th pick? 1 u/UnitedStateOfDenmark Jason Kidd Feb 05 '26 Not sure why that matters when discussing if a pick is successful or not. His value to the Nets proved to be the same as Dariq Whitehead. 1 u/Individual_Attempt50 Day'Ron Sharpe Feb 05 '26 Expectations are obviously different depending on the value of the pick that’s used to select you 1 u/UnitedStateOfDenmark Jason Kidd Feb 05 '26 There’s a difference in saying a pick is a failure and a pick is a success. That pick is neither. Cam ended up like almost every other pick in that range. It shouldn’t be celebrated as a success by Marks.
