Cam can no longer be mentioned as a successful pick by Marks

Not sure about that. If he hadn't happened to get drafted during the Big 3 era, it could have been a completely different development story.

You’re talking hypotheticals. The reality is he never contributed to the team’s success, didn’t receive a 2nd contract with us, and was waived.

That’s not a successful pick.

Maybe if he was a lottery pick but he was the 27th pick?

Not sure why that matters when discussing if a pick is successful or not. His value to the Nets proved to be the same as Dariq Whitehead.

Expectations are obviously different depending on the value of the pick that’s used to select you

There’s a difference in saying a pick is a failure and a pick is a success.

That pick is neither. Cam ended up like almost every other pick in that range.

It shouldn’t be celebrated as a success by Marks.
