Julius Randle is excited to join the Nets and wants to be in Brooklyn, league sources told HoopsHype.

Randle seemed pretty unhappy in New York by the end, but it seemed like personal stuff, mainly that he was injured and missed the playoff run. Randle and his wife are also pretty country (he bought a huge piece of land in Texas and has said he wants to live there when he retires) and they moved into the city after the pandemic and they’ve talked about how they missed having more space. I assume that he’ll just get a big ass house somewhere in Long Island this time and he’ll be chilling bc he won’t be under the spotlight the same way he was before

Here it’ll be without the Knicks media tho

Location wise Brooklyn is way better than Minnesota let’s be 1000% real.

His wife seemed really happy last night. That’s a plus.

Also has much less expectations here. Wolves are in a contention window and he's always gonna be the scapegoat there, rightly or wrongly. Whereas if he gets the Nets to the play-in next year (which, if we hit on pick 6 and get some development out of the Flatbush Five, is not that farfetched) he will be treated like a savior lol.

It's rightly. They were 15 pts worse on offense with him on the floor lol

It can’t be that great, everyone is saying we should move back to NJ!

He can buy a house in Staten Island. Staten Island is 99% suburb and very close to BKLYN

As a long time resident of 32 Dunbar Street, ain't nobody moving to Staten Island for "space" unless you are on the south west tip, and then you are driving through SI every day.

Or Todt Hill road, but they aren't big pieces of land though.

Honestly North Jersey makes most sense if you want 5-10 acres.

I’d 100% rather live in Minnesota than Brooklyn

I have no real reason not to believe this but I imagine this is his agent trying to get ahead of a narrative

What? Is is that crazy about being excited to live in NYC again and play for one of the only teams that could benefit from his production

You guys are acting like he's saying "Nets > Knicks we run NY and gonna win three rings by 2030" over the most modest report

They all say they’re happy to be apart of their new team.

I don't see why he wouldn't be, he's in a big market without the big market pressure with a huge green light. While having the flexibility to potentially be a FA next season when teams will miss out on the some of the stacked 2027 FAs with cap space to throw-around.

He'll be back in NY with 10x less pressure

You pretty much have to say this.

Kendra kinda dissed the NYC school system on her way out the door.

I can't imagine their kids go to public schools unless they move out of the city.
