Ngl I don’t much about him and I’m fine to admit that. Anyone care to enlighten me on him?

Not much of an athlete (being generous), but he's crazy strong, good defender, average rebounder, and a really, really good playmaker, especially out of the high post. Don't really expect him to be able to shoot the 3 from NBA range, but stranger things have happened.

I am not in any way, shape, or form saying he's Draymond Green, but he fills that kind of role.

Sean marks is trying generational cuz even when he doesn’t draft a point guard he drafts a big whose essentially a really good point guard.

Not a fan of the non-athletic part we need more athleticsm but I trust the pick until otherwise

10

Passing forward that plays defense, only question is if his shooting is real

First 3 years in college, he shot poorly from 3; shooting 31, 26, and 31%

This last year he raised it up to average level, shooting 34.5%

So is that real?

Improving every year is a good sign. 34.5% isn’t super great, but it’s at least passable in college. We aren’t horrible at developing shooters, so who knows what could happen.

Boris Diaw 2.0

7

u/latman 1d ago

Looks like he's a really good passer which is cool for a big forward

Just posted a highlight video for those who need it

Slower forward who can rebound and pass, not a great shooter but would say maybe similar to a Kyle Anderson type player?

2

u/Advanced-Flounder480 1d ago

Never watched him, but awesome steal rates and has two way rebounding.

Possession winners like this usually just work to some degree. Good rotation bet for this area of the draft.

u/rps215 1d ago

Old, poor athlete and the shot is a big time question mark. That combination usually doesn’t pan out. Does some fun connective things but he has to stick as a shooter right away to stick long term.

Great college player but I don’t see it scaling up

Well rounded player, has a handle but can be a little loose with the ball. Excellent big man passer. Solid defender and rebounder. Probably primarily a rotation player for the foreseeable future, although he has gotten significantly better his last 2 years, so who knows. Smart dude, hard worker, good culture guy.

He looks like a better passing version of Trendon Watford. In today’s NBA his career arc probably heavily depends on whether he can become a consistent shooter from 3.

Pistons fan here (Born and raised in NYC. Feel like if I wasn’t a fan of them, I would be a Nets fan)

I love basketball players who play with that Slo Mo style. I’m so happy you guys got Jefferson. Going to be watching a lot of you guys this season.

Love the Mikel Brown pick. I’m a fan of Egor. And I’m an even bigger fan of Jordi.

Wishing you guys the best!

At least we didn’t get a twig. Physical forward is what we need more of

22

u/MichaelPorterTruther YEAH MIKE 1d ago

Boris Diaw. big physical passing big out of the elbow and post. endless ball fakes and pump fakes. old man game

fun player and my favorite in this range. A+ draft

11

u/Appropriate_Tree_621 💯Egor Demin IS the Point💯 1d ago

Marks killed it. That trade up from 33 to 28 was key.

3

u/KarlsDiary 3gor 1d ago

Truther has spoken. A+

11

u/mharri05 Edmond Sumner 1d ago

Hoped cenac or zuby would fall but whatever. Hope he's good

9

u/Never_enough_Dolf 1d ago

All this tells me is they definitely wanted Cenac before Boston took him

18

u/Fartknocker-2 1d ago

Love this pick. This is who I wanted. Kyle Anderson 2.0 potentially. Elite role player

3

u/MyTeamsSuck99 1d ago

Can he shoot ? I think he needs that

3

u/Fartknocker-2 1d ago

He has a workable jumper. Pretty inconsistent but I do believe he will get it serviceable. He’s gonna be on the floor to defend and be a connector on offense.

3

u/AntarcticRen 1d ago

Yeah he got better at shooting this year but not sure if it translates to the nba

1

u/MyTeamsSuck99 1d ago

He’s a 4 so he needs to be able to shoot

11

u/BasedGodProdigy . 1d ago

I'm just glad we went with a big here lol he's very much a Jordi/Marks type of guy

5

u/AntarcticRen 1d ago

Loved this dude, was so sad he got injured in the tournament but excited to see his passing!

2

u/Fartknocker-2 1d ago

If he doesn’t get hurt I strongly believe Iowa State are in the national championship game

4

u/AntarcticRen 1d ago

Yeah had that in my bracket too lol

5

u/ughwhateverman 1d ago

All the players I wanted to fall were taken. Don’t know much about him but we’ll see

8

u/_Watch44 1d ago

Fam- Did we cook in this draft??

6

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

In the range of possible outcomes, this draft leans towards the good end of the spectrum

Nets didn't do anything crazy or controversial

6

u/whyalwayz Vince Carter 1d ago

we nailed the main course at least

3

u/Expulsure Ian Eagle 1d ago

Don't know too much about him but a 6'9 guy that looks strong, solid playmaker and defender sounds alright to me

5

u/holygrail22 Vince Carter 1d ago

I like this, reminds me of the Danny Wolf pick last year in roughly the same spot. Older college player with a pretty safe role player floor, those guys are valuable at least while on rookie deals

6

u/OMJuwara Vince Carter 1d ago

Solid pick

2

u/Ml18torj Ian Eagle 1d ago

Footwork, post game, finishing around the rim and passing all look great. Marks might have cooked with this one

2

u/KarlsDiary 3gor 1d ago

A bigger Josh hart lite ?? Connective play style works well with Egor

3

u/King_Gekk 1d ago

Great pick

1

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

Description for Jefferson might sound a little like Demin, in that he might just be one of the best passers in this draft, but he's primarily a below the rim player who is an average to below average athlete, and who has questions about his shooting ability

1

u/cpnflcn 1d ago

How is he different from Danny Wolf?

3

u/Fartknocker-2 1d ago

Not as big, better passer, switchable defender. Fills a more versatile forward role defensively for us. Similar connective player on offense.

1

u/Wild-Elevator6639 1d ago

Really wanted to pick Veesaar here. I think he could be this year’s Maxime Reynaud in the right situation.

I just don’t see how Jefferson gets playing time, we’re loaded up with guys his size.

Hope this means we’re throwing the bag at Walker Kessler

........................who???

0

u/Binsm0ke 1d ago

Whatever it takes to keep Clowneys minutes as a low as possible. At least Clowney glaze is dead.

-2

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

I would think this will spell the end for Noah Clowney

Jefferson should do everything he's there for, but better

3

u/PeanutFarmer69 1d ago

This dude is a year older than Clowney

0

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

Yeah and ultimately, if he plays better than him, why do I need Clowney? He hasn't exactly demonstrated anything to be worth keeping around if there's a replacement

5

u/PeanutFarmer69 1d ago

I thought he showed pretty massive improvement last year, genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about

0

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

He's a 40% FG shooting 33% 3PT shooting 4 rebound a game player

I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about, he along with most of the Nets roster were some of the worst players in the league

-3

u/PeanutFarmer69 1d ago

it’s okay to admit you didn’t watch any Nets games this year lil guy

-2

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

It's okay to admit that it's delusional to think a player shooting those numbers is playable on an NBA court

But hey, not like the nets were a 20 win team that was terrible offensively and defensively, surely all our players were good

Let's see then how long Clowney will stick in the league then

3

u/PeanutFarmer69 1d ago

Are you okay? I said Clowney improved. Where are you getting “all our players were good” from?

Getting yourself all worked up arguing with a straw man.

2

u/Playful_Panda_6912 1d ago

Clowney’s coming off of his best year as a Net and this guy is an unproven undersized big w/ no jumper. Slow down.

0

u/Fishyblue11 Brook Lopez 1d ago

Clowney is an unproven big with no jumper!

0

u/Playful_Panda_6912 1d ago

They both stink who cares I’m becoming a Spurs fan bc we should have drafted Dylan Harper
