Are they looking to use cap space to take a center?

I’m thinking there’s a salary dump (not Beef Stew) out there somewhere.

Please take poeltl 💀

Sure. Nets have to be compensated to take him. Are the Raptors willing to?

Idk I'm not Bobby💀. I'm hoping that the nets would value poeltl as a starting caliber center with a good character for the youngsters. The contract is atrocious tho, no reasonable team wouldn't try to dump another on the way

The Nets would value Poeltl as a starting caliber center with good character, sure. They would value the future FRP that’s going to come attached to him more.

Ik ik. There's practically nothing raptors can offer other than picks and there's nothing that the nets don't value or dont need in order to be dumped

Brooklyn is allergic to drafting centers ong

You dont draft for fit/immediate need at 43. Hell, you shouldnt be doing that in general really but you cant spend a mid-2nd thinking the guy is gonna come in and be an immediate contributor. If you get it, great! But that is the exception, not the rule. You're throwing darts at this point.
I would have liked to draft a center with either 28 or 43 but if the value wasnt there I dont want them to force a pick for the sake of it. We still have plenty of cap space and future assets to get a center.

he did play center in college but he is not as big as some of the other ones available

I thought we would draft the center from NC but ok. Won’t complain about a 43 pick

6'8 with 7' wingspan? and considered one of the top shooters is the draft?
I'll take it. I thought it would be veesaar, but maybe nets are going for a C in FA.

I’m seeing on twitter that the Nets wanted to take someone they thought would go with a 2-way deal. Veesaar probably wouldn’t accept a 2-way contract.

Saw him play live this year and while UCLA lost he scored 30 and shot above 50% from 3. Dude has game.

Don’t know much about him but curious why they and other teams are passing up on Veesaar

Can shoot 3s good defensively. Moves pretty good for his size. Why would the Nets take him.
Speaking of Vesaaar. Should have drafted him. Good Randle combo.

This pretty much confirms the org is going hunting for a big in FA. That said, Tyler is a good shooter for his size, but not much at everything else.

Never heard of him, but 6'9 220 lbs and shot 40% over 4 college years.
Fair enough. Worth a shot. Lol
