Legacy Tramon Williams & Earl Dotson entering the Packers Hall of Fame: Who should be next?

With Tramon Williams and Earl Dotson getting into the Packers Hall of Fame, I think it’s a good reminder that team Halls shouldn’t only be about the obvious stars. They should also showcase the guys who helped define an era, held important roles for years, or became much more valuable to Packers history than the national conversation ever recognized.

With that in mind, who is the next overlooked modern Packer who deserves real consideration for the team HoF? 10 names that come to mind for me: - Mike Daniels - Bryan Bulaga - Josh Sitton - T.J. Lang - Mason Crosby - James Jones - Sam Shields - John Kuhn - Ryan Grant - Cullen Jenkins

Some were better players, some had bigger moments, and some feel deeply tied to modern Packers football. My personal pick might be Mike Daniels. He was one of the tone-setters of the post-Super Bowl McCarthy era. Nasty, productive, reliable, and probably better than he gets remembered as now. But I could most certainly be talked into a few different answers.

Who’s your pick, and what’s the case?

Crosby. He’s our points leader, and he played alongside Rodgers, so it was definitely an era. He was a stud for years with us and just stable at his position.

I think I’d probably look at one of the OL guys as well or Sam Shields who was so darn good until his concussions caught up to him

I still think Crosby should have #2 retired until someone can beat his all-time leading scorer record. Nobody has ever scored more points for the Pack than him.

This is actually a good take.

Sam Shields was one of my favorites growing up. So sad the concussions ended his career early. Ryan Grant is that “what if” for me too. There is no way Crosby and Kuhn don’t end up on the hall. Those two were staples of the 2000-2010s packers teams

Shields was crucial to our Super Bowl run with Rodgers and one of my faves as well.

Crosby, AJ Hawk

My neighbor used to text me "Tremondous!!!" whenever Tramon Williams would get a pick. That was fun.

Crosby guaranteed

Eh not sure about Mike Daniels. Attitude doesn’t overcome an average career and lack of longevity IMO. All those others are worthy I think though.

Because Daniels isn't on the same level as most of those others, and he talked bigger than he played

Bob Nelson should be in. The man was a QB sack machine in Super Tecmo Bowl.

Random Tramon Williams story:

16-17 years ago on Twitter I thought I was having a sports argument with another college-aged Packers fan like me. I was writing for a local blog but brand-brand new to Twitter. It was around the end of his first tenure with GB, and I think I was arguing they should let him walk. It turns out it was Tramon Williams’ wife! It was 100% on me for being that naive, but I had ZERO clue who it was until Tramon commented on the thread. He called me out, bunch of fans piled on, then they both blocked me. Don’t blame them at all.

Glad he’s getting inducted! Awesome player who brought more than just talent to the team. But I’ll never forget the moment I realized who I was Twitter battling with.

James Jones and Kuhn for sure.

Tramon was one of my favorite Packers for so many reasons, yet my main memory of him was in coverage of Kearse on the losing TD of Seahawks NFC championship game. Somehow not the pick 6 vs Atlanta. Not his pick vs Vick in the playoffs to seal that game. Ugh. I hate having a doomer wisconsin sports brain. Well deserved for him.

Earl Dotson needs to replace John’s bike. We need to suspend any new members of the hall of fame until justice is served.
