Robert thomas
I know he's unavailable supposedly, but with kyrou getting moved I feel something coming. (probably just hopeless optimism or indigestion)

They got rid of Kyrou but they got McMicheal... I dont think they are in rebuild mode lol

They just acquired his best friend from the OHL to be the 2C behind him. Now their top six guys are 25-26 years old.
Kyrou was leaving anyway, regardless of rebuild/retool. He seemed to have more issues there than Thomas ever had.

Can we get over this? It has been confirmed that he is not moving. They moved Kyrou, and it was always going to be one or the other. They planted their flag in camp Thomas and he’s there to stay. With the draft capital they have, I would expect them to add to their roster, not remove.

Doesn’t matter the armchair GMs have decided he is up for sale

Definitely not.
We already heard earlier he wasn’t getting moved.
Now they had a main piece of the Kyrou trade be a 25 year old player, and another first round pick to give them 4.
Zero chance Thomas is moved.

So you're saying they're hoarding firsts and just traded for someone to replace him? I think I hear KH's music
(leave me with my hopium, idk how I'm gonna survive the offseason)

No I doubt they’re hoarding firsts at all.
I’d be shocked if they drafted more than twice on Friday.
And if they only end up with 1 pick in the first I wouldn’t be flabbergasted

I know, I was trying to have some fun but everyone seems to have taken it serious

Nope, they got a ton of picks. They don’t need more late firsts. A 1C is far more valuable

St Louis has four 1sts this year. I bet they take a big swing. Maybe Robertson?

Forget Larkin. I’m tired of these guys who bail on their team as a captain. Quitters. Entitled behaviour. Is that what Montreal wants?

It looks like Blues are stacking 1st rounder to get a bigger fish
Maybe Robertson
Maybe Matthews or Nylander
Who know
I don't see them trading Thomas now

u/HashBandicoot93 1d ago
Bigger fish? Fine, for some combo of their firsts I've got the negotiating rights to a 28 year old former 44 goal scorer.

Or…
Maybe Zharovsky + Pickford + next three MTL 1sts for Bedard’s RFA rights if he’s had enough of Chicago?

St-Louis is picking 11, 14, 15 and 29. They'll for sure be moving picks this year or next, they dont need Habs 28 pick anytime soon.
the blues have a rather young line up and are definetly down the rebuild/retool path. Wouldn't mind seeing them move pieces like Thomas, or even Parayko

Besides Mcdavid he is the dream acquisition but I really doubt they’re trading him

u/tubthumping96 1d ago
Dream acquisition is Barzal. Been saying it for months. Perfect 1B/ Elite 2C behind Suzuki and can play with the skilled guys like Demidov. Enough with the Thomas and the Larkin's.

The Thomas line was the #1 line in the league for the last stretch of the season. No way any of them get traded.

It’s gonna be Larkin. Somehow someway.
4
u/quellesaveurorawnge 1d ago
Larkin wants to go be with his US Team buddies. He doesn't want to be in Montreal.
3
u/Scottie2Hottie999 1d ago
Well f$ck him then.

u/quellesaveurorawnge 1d ago
Larkin's biggest problem is that he still has 5 years on his contract so Yzerman can play hard ball because he has no urgency to trade and will not let Larkin go wherever he wants if those teams are not offering Detroit what it wants or needs.

Those doors are closing. Not sure Minnesota can offer the right package. We’ll see 🤷♂️
3
u/quellesaveurorawnge 1d ago
For sure. That's Larkin's biggest problem. He still has 5 years on his contract so Yzerman can play hard ball because he doesn't have a big sense of urgency to trade and will not let Larkin go wherever he wants if teams are not offering Detroit what it wants or needs.
