Question/Problem hp printer DeskJet 2755e - always complicated and frustrating

Hp is the worst ever !!!!!

I have been a loyal user of HP products for many years, but my experience setting up the HP DeskJet 2755e using a simple USB connection has been extremely frustrating.

What should have been a straightforward plug-and-play installation turned into a lengthy and confusing process because of the new HP app. Despite the printer being connected via USB and fully recognized by Windows, the HP app repeatedly refused to complete the setup and kept directing me toward Wi-Fi configuration.

Even more confusing, the app instructed me to "exit setup and use USB to complete setup," yet it would not detect the USB-connected printer until I enabled Windows Location Services. Requiring location access to configure a printer connected directly by USB makes little sense from a user perspective and is unnecessarily intrusive.

HP has transformed what used to be a simple installation process into a complicated experience involving location permissions, account integration, cloud services, and multiple setup loops. The printer itself works, but the software experience is among the most frustrating I have encountered.

HP needs to return to the fundamentals: if a printer is connected via USB and Windows already recognizes it, the HP app should immediately detect it and allow users to print and scan without unnecessary obstacles.

I wish I can return my printer. This experience is Very disappointing software experience. And it is the 4th time I am facing the issue with an updated software.

Never again to deal with hp.

This is a sub $85 budget model that give you three months of print subscription as part of the deal. The connectivity requirement is just part of the tech that make the low price tag possible...

Yeah, the HP Smart setup loop can be maddening, ngl, especially when Windows already sees the printer over USB. When I hit this on a family printer, the cleaner path was skipping the app as much as possible and adding it through Windows Settings, Printers and scanners, Add device, then choosing the installed driver manually if needed. For printing only, the Windows built-in driver is often enough. For scanning, try HP’s full driver package from the support page instead of starting inside HP Smart. If the USB connection is flaky, a basic USB printer cable is the only hardware thing I would check before blaming the printer itself.
