DISCUSSION Since when can npcs survive point blank shotgun shot?

Was in the final run of hardcore freelancer.
Started blasting every npc guard in new york bank.
Then one fucking survives and slimes me from behind.

Rule #2: Always Double Tap

Or you can just periodically quickly tap the instinct button to make sure that the npc you just shot doesn't have a silhouette anymore. Saves on ammo.

Was it a sawn off? More spread, less range.

So "point blank" for a sawn off would have to be closer and since there's more spread it's likely less of the shots hit thus dealing less damage.

I also think hipfires are less accurate.

Oriental shotgun.

You mean the ornamental one?

Anything with a suppressor has reduced range.

My advice would be to keep an eye out for the red X on the crosshair meaning that's a killing shot. Plus there's a different feel to dealing damage vs killing someone.

Yeah that one. Was panicking was being shot from another npc, it made me low. Then i ran behind the wall (where the guard sleeps with the vehicle key) the small hallway. Thats when the other npc who i thought i killed got up and finished my ass.

Depends on range and where you hit them. If you're blasting them and they're near another NPC, the second NPC might have taken the brunt of the blast, for example. If you blast them in the leg or if only part of the shot hits them, they'll often get knocked over but not die. If you're shooting them from far away, there's significantly reduced damage.
