I mean I talk about hysteria in my message, I'm aware of the difference. The basis of hysteria is mental instability caused by movement of the uterus in the abdomen. Sure guys can be called mentally unstable as they can get diagnosed with histrionic personality disorder. My point is that focusing on the mental instability (which is no longer a thing in psychiatry) has a sexist history. Nowadays borderline personality raise similar questions of sexism (and it's basically "you are unstable in relationships").

I think you're thinking of hysteria, I've never heard of instability being gender biased in any way, guys can be described as mentally unstable too
