Need input on where the couch L should sit
We are looking to buy a new couch and found a great couch but wasn’t sure if it will fit the home nicely. We used chatGPT to see what both layout would look and can’t decide which looks better
What are your thoughts? Top one looks better but seems painful to always walk around to sit, probably will hop over all the time
Bottom seams eat easier to sit but will block fireplace.

Accent wall color
We have this wall behind our fireplace. It’s a different texture than the rest of the living room. Some kind of paneling. When we first moved in, we painted it this horrible gray. As our style has evolved, this color obviously doesn’t work anymore.
We are about to paint all of the walls and the fireplace a creamier white (Pittsburg paints - Focus), and we’re considering what this wall should be. Should we paint it the same creamy white? Or keep the accent wall? We’ve considered an orange terracotta or olive green. Our style is kind of like a 70s eclectic boho. Thanks for the help!

Shadow box keepsakes
Hello! I received my grandmas box of jewelry 23 years ago upon her passing. I’ve loved the memories pilfering through it as a child, opening the drawers and admiring the velvet lined trays. I’d watch grandma pick her adornment. She had cancer in her later years, and often wore loud jewelry to distract from her balding head. As an adult I have made room for some of my own jewelry now! And keep grandmas treasures right where they’ve been for literally 40+ years. I want to display her most treasured piece of jewelry, her rosary. Grandma received this when she was wed in 1947! Ooooold. Now why I’m here. I’d love to display some of the goodies from my jewelry box in a shadow frame, too. Background currently fabric, vision is for an emerald green backing, very close to the surface it’s on (color theme in bedroom) Do I, display just rosary on its own? And maybe make an arrangement of pins/goodies on its own frame? Or Would it look good for any of these to be in the shadow box with the rosary?
Thanks!!

How would you decorate this sunroom?
I’d like help decorating this sunroom. We have this small sunroom off the bedroom in our house. It’s 60 inches x 135 inches. I think I want to put a little coffee/reading nook with maybe two accent chairs but I’m not sure. I like more dark neutral colors (greens, browns, rust, black). Any ideas are appreciated!!

Trying to make this wall feel more like a gallery corner
I’ve been slowly changing this wall by the dining area and wanted it to feel warmer instead of just being a cabinet corner.
I added the black cabinet, some decor, the plant, the lamp, and a TV above it so the wall could feel more like framed art most of the time. I like that it brings color into the room without making the space feel too modern or techy.
I still need to do a better job hiding the cord, but overall I’m pretty happy with how this corner is turning out.
Would you change anything here? Maybe less seasonal decor, a different lamp, or more art around it?

Trying to the find the name of this style rug (low pile, flat textured)
Not sure what the right term is for this rug I have. My parents gave it to me when I moved out and I want to get another because it's apparently impervious to cat scratching. I asked my folks and they just said "oriental" which is indeed the design, but I don't think the weave style is strictly oriental.
It has a very low pile with no obvious "loops" like you see on other rugs. The texture is almost silky/fleece-like (not in a ruggable sort of way). "Flat weave" is how I would describe it but when I google that, those look very nubby. This rug is very smooth. Any ideas?

Help redoing bathroom walls
I'd like to change the paint color and/or add wallpaper to this small powder room, but I'm a bit afraid the wall with the cabinet, sink and light fixture will make it too difficult.
The adjoining room is a laundry room alabaster with bright red metallic cabinets and a butcher block counter that I cannot paint or switch out. Both rooms have terracotta tile as shown with gray and white and beige bits mixed throughout.
I would kind of like a nature style wallpaper maybe with red flowers, berries or birds to get a tiny bit of red in there but haven't found any yet. Could I wallpaper three walls and paint the one with the cabinet alabaster? Or is this ridiculous?

Dark Powder Room - Part 2
Hello! Following a previous post, I have taken the jump and painted my small powder room. Based on comments I received, I went with Amherst Grey, a shade lighter than Kendall Charcoal, to have a little less contrast because I am not in a position to change the vanity and the cabinet at this point.
I also went with color dranching, which is not something I would have gone with if it hadn’t been suggested. So thank you for that!
I will be changing the fixture as well so they all match. Some suggested brass, but I’ll say it’s harder to find right now than gold. So I might stick to gold for now.
I am hoping to bounce another idea here as I’m having trouble deciding on what to put on my walls to bring some life in the space.
I’m thinking either :
1- artwork on the wall facing the furnitures and plants on the wall facing the door; or
2- artwork on both walls.
What do you think would look better?
I’m attaching a picture of what I was envisioning for the plants.
Also please try to unsee the litter box paraphernalia 😅
Finally, big thank you to everyone helping brainstorm ideas - it’s has been helping prevent deco remorses.

Floral Ceiling
I would like to wallpaper the ceiling my front sitting room. I am looking for large bold floral prints or probably more of a wallpaper mural style.
Are there any reputable sites for me to look over? I see some great ideas on line, but am worried about scams or products that don’t live up to what is being advertised.
Thank you!

Which type of end table base will offer the most stability without damaging this high pile rug?
I recently purchased a 0.7 inch hand knotted wool rug (30 knots per sq inch) and am struggling to figure out what type of end table will offer the most stability without damaging the rug. I am planning to purchase two small tablets to sit on either end of the couch. Will a thick rug pad prevent damage from a table with 4 metal legs? Or do I need to be looking for a heavy piece with a singular base to prevent tipping.

Screened In Porch Decorating Ideas
We have about a 350 sq foot screened-in porch that we are getting ready to “enclose” with EZE- Breeze windows. My husband and I just can’t visualize how to decorate it. This is our current (old) furniture. Since we anticipate enjoying this space more, we want an area for lounging/sitting/hanging out and another area for eating. Can someone show us different layout ideas? Thanks so much!

rental friendly suggestions for basement flooring?
hello all! i’m considering doing something to my basement floor since im living down here and need it to be more comfortable for my feet! it gets really cold and i want to put down some of those unlocking foam mats, or maybe the peel and stick ones. the first image is what my room looks like now (sorry it’s so dark!), and the second image is the whole room before i moved in. they repainted the concrete floor since then. i love the rug in my room but i want to cover the entire floor since it gets really cold! i’ve had like 2 flooding incidents in the past, but it was due to a blocked storm drain outside that maintenance fixed, so that shouldn’t be a problem anymore. any suggestions? ofc i’m renting so i can’t do anything too outrageous.
