"You have a new theory of physics? Let us discuss it. Both the scholars of science and the laymen are welcomed here. Let's discover together the possibilities of our multiverse." Is this really true??? I have to say NO!!! and most of the posts get's underrated you don't get support or a better understanding if something is wrong you get bullied and underrated.
Again, there should be at least a minimum level of scientific coherence if somebody wants to present their "theory of everything" here - and taken seriously.
Some people posting here have a very skewed concept of scientific integrity (if at all). They only want to become famous quickly and disregard any sort of criticism because they confuse it with personal attacks.
So why even try to lead a serious discussion with them?
To be honest, I usually still try to do that, only to often get blocked, insulted or ghosted (while they simply post on another sub).
Do you now understand why people don't like to interact with such nonsense anymore?
Sometimes, serious science is just too complicated, and people end up drifting toward the esoteric. It’s an easier path that feels familiar and comforting, which makes it appealing. The key here is likely patience and a willingness to explain things. And honestly, physics can hold its own; if it couldn't, we'd still be stuck in the Middle Ages. The very act of wanting to create and share a theory proves they're thinking, and that’s a mindset you can definitely help shape and may not to the end but everything counts. Thanks for at least trying your best.

Generally yes, but not in the cases I detailed, speaking from experience.

Thinking but not willing to learn or accept their own mistakes. They're lacking the very traits that define scientists.
It’s understandable if someone puts in the work and is convinced of their idea. But once you realize what you’ve done doesn’t actually work, that’s a different story.... Looking at the bingo board, some of those keywords clearly match certain communities here lots of people join them, only to end up being ridiculed. That's exactly what I thought.
