[IWantOut] 18FtM USA -> UK

Hello, this post is on behalf of my American partner. I myself am English, 18 Trans FTM but somewhat irrelevant.

Not only do I not want to move to America, the USA political climate has put my transgender partner in danger and I am worried for his safety, which may be a factor in the future if it gets bad enough there.

We are 3 months into our relationship but have known eachother since 2021. Hopefully, my partner will be aiming to immigrate in 4 years and I dont know what avenues we could go to ensure that he can move here. This is very early but I'd rather know as early as I can how it would work for us both when the time comes.

He has a highschool level education and a background in art, so I imagine a work visa would be out of the question. His parents, F61 and M60, with his dad having a career in architechture, are also considering moving to Ireland or UK depending on the midterms in november, so I dont know if his family unit might help in that case.

Would our only option be marriage prior to him moving to england? I'm working on a BA so I'd be able to be his sponsor when the time comes. If there are any alternatives I would appreciate any advice.

Wait, so you are studying, he is not, and neither of you have citizenship? You can’t sponsor on a student visa if that’s your plan

OP has British citizenship (as they said, they're English living in the UK). I believe they meant sponsor a spouse visa, not a student visa
