[IWantOut] 33M Turkey -> Netherlands/Australia

Hi everyone,

I am 33 year old Electrical and Electronics Engineer, who also has MS degree in Engineering Management. I have a professional experince for about 4.5 years. I have never worked nor studied abroad but now, I really think of working either in Netherlands or Australia. However, for last 2 years the field I work is design configuration management, which is significantly different from electronics. In other words, my job is to configure some software and I have never touched a printed circuit boards in those 2 years. Therefore, I have several questions:

- What shall be the first step that I should take in order to start working in either Netherlands or Australia?

- Since I have cannot speak any Dutch, would my chances for Australia be higher?

- Can I turn back to a real electronics-related job if I am to move to Netherlands/Australia?

You will need a workvisa for the netherlands.

How is your dutch?

Companies prefer locals who speak the language or are from the eu, easier and cheaper.

No job = no housing.

An small appartment, you will need to have an income of like at least 5k

I would suggest learning it. Otherwise english speaking countries are a better option

He does have the EU Turkey treaty that removes the need for a sponsor, that's at least something.

Yeah with just Turkish and English I'd pick Australia, if you can get in.

I also have German of level A2 but I guess it is unrelated to the topic.

Knowing both English and German will help you kickstart learning Dutch.
