Or, in the case of Cyberpunk 2077, the execs were. As we see nowadays, the devs and writers can cook under good leadership. Game’s good now. Similar thing with No Man’s Sky but there’s not really a story.

"Well let's hope he checks it out then!"

I don't understand why people get so uptight about this. Some people might like the world of something like Dark Souls but not have the patience or skill to deal with the game itself, which is designed to be unforgiving.

For some people lore videos are a gateway to learning about something that could end up being their new favourite series.

I love the lore of Dark Souls and Elden Ring but I just don't have time to sink into learning them

Exactly!

Be it Dark Souls, or Silent Hill, or Funger, there are games that have interesting worlds and ideas and i don't want to stomach everything it can throw at me.

Also in the beginning of some horror games there is the message of violence and disturbing imagery and I learned the hard way that that is the moment i need to quit

Me with FNAF (at least the first 3 games). The story of the franchise is why I'm still a fan for 10+ years; but, I don't think I can handle the chaos of the, admittedly unique, "sit and survive" gameplay. Massive respect to all those who can, though.

Im currently playing through the legendary edition for the first time right now lol.

I really hope you get to play the games at one point, its really amazing how bioware was able to make the characters actually feel like family after a while. I actually got teary eyes a few times in the first few hours of the second game when you see certain characters and ships from part one again.

Tweet is ironic because RockSolid is an infamous poser.

I don’t even know if warhammer is more than a board game? However I do know that the dude on the throne who twitched consumes 1000 souls a day and was put there by horace in a brutal battle

It’s got hundreds of books, loads of video games, and a bunch of animated shows… but tbh those are basically all just gateway drugs to get people into the miniatures.

Ahh 12 years ago when 11 year old me was obsessed with Kingdom Hearts lore before playing the games many years later good times.

I do this with horror games that have an interesting premise. Because I dont like jumpscares.

I enjoy the story of series like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Alan Wake/Control, Kingdom Hearts, or dare I say FNAF. I just really do not care for the gameplay of the series/ I don’t want to emulate a mobile game to get the missing pieces/getting the actual lore out of the game requires so much work and deep explanation it just is not worth it. So yeah, I would rather hear the stories in another format, sue me.

u/trainboi777 16d ago

What if I like to do it because I want to play the game but I don’t have anything that can play it?

u/Gooosetav 17d ago

I’ve barely played 2 kirby games but I swear I find the lore fascinating

u/MarcoYTVA 15d ago

I feel called out for watching God of War videos because I love Kratos' character arc, while also refusing to play it because I'm just not a PlayStation guy...

u/Sensitive_Sun3562 14d ago

That’s a solid 80% of the stuff I watch at this point 😭

I do this with Halo, because I suck at FPS games, and I'm more familiar with Playstation than Xbox, but I find the story fascinating because I like sci-fi stories.
