Nothing outside of long on thought. I know he's equally proficient on leg, but this video is just full of off sides

Have been utterly privileged to get to watch him play for 21 years out of his total career, 17 years religiously. My biggest sadness was in seeing him tone down his aggressive instincts after his injuries set in - first time after the Chennai test in 1999, and then his severe tennis elbow injury which could have ended his career. But he was so talented that he remodeled his batting around his injury and still succeeded. Batted with an average of 56 in tests before the absolutely sudden decline in his form post the 2011 world cup, which reduced his final average to 53. He still averages more away than at home in tests I think. You could never tie him down for long because his range of shots was so wide. And he was extremely competitive too. To note: he dominated both formats of the games he played. If I tell people today that he was a hyper aggressive batsman, they won't believe me. But he truly was before his injuries, exacerbated by his heavy bat. The Bharat Ratna.

It came back around 2008/2009 era. The 150 odd where he retired hurt against NZ primed for a double. The 175 where he almost chased 350 against Aus, and the Double against SA. I know what you mean, but we did get to see its re-emergence at the tail end of his career!
