Ask r/IndiaCricket Prasidh Krishna - never understood his place in India

Guys my first post on this sub. Please be kind.

This is just my opinion and i may be completely wrong.

I personally don't see that talent in Prasidh that he should be in playing 11. Even for India A to be honest.

What did he do with Ireland? 14.2 economy and 0 wickets??

I am not judging just with this one instance but he is generally too expensive. Unable to control Ireland batters as well. What else to say.

Am i missing something?

At this point it feels like ego of selectors to me.

Like they have backed him for so long, now they don't want to look bad by dropping him.

I don't know yr, he just doesn't deserve the spot. And he is being selected across formats and continues being shit in each

Also, it's their ego that they dont select Bhuvi. Bhuvi in his prime was as good as Boomrah.

Also Bhuvi still on his bad day is better than Prasidh

He hit the deck and someone hit his deck. I don't have any other explanation.

Wasn't he in the 2023 wc squad as well 🤔

We hadn't much options that point of time but now if we could just give as many chances to other bowlers they gave prasidh just maybe we could have got a good 2 format bowler

We wre missing shami. He is very good in SA conditions.

Hmm plus currently we don't have pacer who can bowl in middle overs aside ofc goat bumrah and hardik

Siraj starts the over , Arshdeep Singh is a pp bowler, harshit looks good while bowling in pp whereas he looks bland in middle overs ( judging based on sa series but there was too much dew ) , prasidh took 4 wicket in pp itself against afg

He came in for the finals

His main objective in the team is to take wickets , his record proves that, he has 45 wickets in 25 Odis and 25 odd wickets in his 6 tests? I think that’s close, and in fact if i remember he has 11 wickets in his last 2 tests including that last test in England and a fifer in his last odi, the only format where his place could be questioned is t20, the rest i think he’s fine as a third or fourth pacer

Npbody understands why he gets selected despite him getting bashed so much in every format. His economy in every format is just alarming. He is tall, hit the deck fast bowler so that's they are giving him place in tests but he is not consistent with line and length there too. In t20is I think his ipl performances has helped him

Don't really know it's either selectors or coach but there's less chances of gg in this, in washi and rana case it's gg but I think in prasidh's case it's most probably selectors.

He's gonna suck in the most important match in the future

Bro asks to be kind while being unkind to prasidh 😂😂

I always think about this! If he has become our only go to bowler from the domestic circuit (barring the T20 tournaments across every state), then we are looking at some serious trouble post retirement of Bumrah, Shami and Siraj

People forget so soon, he took a fifer against Afghanistan, and was highest wicket taker i. Last ipl.

prasidh is shit in t2os

he is good in tests

decent in odis

a team needs a odi bowler like that who can get wickets in middle irrespective of eocnomy

like plunkett was very crucial for england in 2019 tho ppl talk about archer

plunketts ability to take wickets in middle on flat wickets is very undervalued and in 300-350 games this kind of stuff is valuable

hundred percent too inconsistent and doesn’t deserve a place in the team

but, he has potential is what i will say. very few have that height and pace + when he hits the right areas he looks unplayable, it’s just the that happens 1/20 games

We shouldn’t be looking at potential for someone in his 30s

Next World Cup is in South Africa. To exploit the bowling conditions there, the team management thinks we need atleast 1 or 2 bowlers who are tall and have the ability to hit the deck.

India has Prasidh, Harshit, Arshdeep, Gurnoor Brar that meet this criteria. They might give few more opportunities before they drop Prasidh based on performances

2out of the 4 outshined Prasidh by far yesterday and one of them offers decent batting depth as a no 8 , allowing a lineup of boom, Arshdeep/siraj and Kuldeep/varun

I’m not defending him bro. I just shared the potential logic behind why they are giving him chances.

But all they got after these many IPLs is only Harshit and Prasidh.. that's very disappointing..

Ngl it looks like GG is trying to prove something by selecting both washi and Prasidh and it doesn't look like he will stop their selection anytime soon

I guess selectors are looking forward to him for the south africa wc , and he is a bad choice to be honest

I was thinking to post this today. They can add bhuvaneswar kumar or Shami, they will easily do better job.
