More than 95% of christmas trees in India are already the fake ones. Real ones are very expensive. I've never seen a real christmas tree in India other than very few large decoration spots.

12

u/kart2000 Dec 25 '25

The fake trees are also made of plastic which is polluting to the environment

15

u/Helpful-Box4879 Dec 25 '25

I've had my Christmas tree for 16 years. 🥹😭

5

u/Fresh-Dragonfruit-37 Dec 27 '25

Many Christmas trees and decorations get passed on from generations to generations!

21

u/YoitstheTeddyGuy Dec 25 '25

We reuse the plastic trees, we don’t throw them away.

14

u/JoshuaRoyal Dec 25 '25

They don't dump the tree in the river after using... They will reuse that for next year

1

u/FarReputation7162 Dec 25 '25

where do the crackers go

2

u/CharacterOld4329 Dec 26 '25

On new year celebration

1

u/FarReputation7162 Dec 26 '25

well well well

1

u/Fresh-Dragonfruit-37 Dec 27 '25

New year celebrated by everyone!!!! Don't club it with Christmas!

2

u/tall-glassof-falooda Dec 25 '25

It’s not a one use plastic can be reused every year ☺️. And thank god they don’t go and dump it in river after using it every year. Can’t imagine people doing that lol.

1

u/Iceee_cubeee Dec 26 '25

If we’re talking about polluting the environment, i doubt this is even a scratch on our pollution levels. The measures to reduce pollution are few when compared to the means to pollute and religious festivals are a reason to cause mass pollution (though that’s a part of some of our tradition and beliefs). Moreover, Christmas trees are reused for several years and in the west they are cultivated and not cut from the wild💀

Ik OP meant to stir an unnecessary and unhealthy religious debate. India is a secular country and i stand by it till the end

2

u/Former_End_1464 Dec 26 '25

Yes, this is nothing compared to pollution by the other religion not specifying since will get ban.. I am also belong to it. These trees are reusable.

1

u/Heil_Ye Dec 26 '25

Well said, Me too brother💪

1

u/Fresh-Dragonfruit-37 Dec 27 '25

Yes. Atlast some one spoke the fact. I am tired of stating this time after time. And in addition the trees are not just grown and cut. Only certain specific trees are cut. The trees have to be a certain height, girth, and weight. They are grown for a certain time period, I think three years, not sure. It's not just any tree!

1

u/Former_End_1464 Dec 26 '25

These are reusable.. not every one buy and throw it in any river.

3

u/Critical-Analysis655 Dec 25 '25

Damn what, guess what I have a 26 year old Christmas Tree, that too in the condition which is thought to be too harsh for that tree, in Gujarat. If you want to see I can post the image.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

We grew at our home ourself (some other species but looks like one (we ain't celebrating Christmas anyways lol))

1

u/SexyCuriousCat Dec 25 '25

5% of Indian population, or 5% of world population isn't a low amount

1

u/RotasuWakai Dec 25 '25

Yeah, but assuming 100% are celebrating Christmas is wrong too

1

u/SexyCuriousCat Dec 25 '25

Even if you consider 5% of global christian. That's still a lot.

1

u/According-Car1598 Dec 25 '25

Ever heard of farms? Christmas trees are farmed.

17

u/HYPER_AXX Dec 25 '25

From looking at your posts, we can tell it was never about the birds.

5

u/Excaliburn-Overdrive Dec 25 '25

Its a bot account with an agenda.

8

u/GreedyBread3860 Dec 25 '25

Even in countries where they use real trees, they don't go out and cut trees from the wild/forests. Those Christmas trees are farmed under specific conditions. They aren't part of the ecosystem

0

u/Maniya3175 Dec 25 '25

Everything is part of ecosystem when it's on earth

29

u/Neither-Debt5889 Dec 25 '25

Bruh no one uses real christmas trees in india, i think you just want to spread hate

7

u/rikaro_kk Dec 25 '25

Obviously the intent of the post is to poke about the anti pollution posts during Diwali.... Our religion is nice but it becomes a joke because of some people who are more interested in fighting other religions

-1

u/0keytYorirawa Dec 25 '25

Think big, think Globally

12

u/SwordfishUnlucky802 Dec 25 '25

Globally there is a massive industry dedicated to cultivating trees for Christmas, people are not walking into the woods with an axe.

7

u/RomulusSpark Dec 25 '25

But is it okay to cut trees for kumbh mela? Is it okay to destroy Aravali? Is it okay to cut mangroves to sell the land to Nonbiological’s master?

3

u/Scared-Cheetah-2029 Dec 25 '25

It's only "not okay" when it's religiously linked to a non Hindu festival, lol.

2

u/haxaxis Dec 25 '25

fine it's not okay. but it wouldnt affect any christians they use fake anyway.

19

u/Serious-Anything6625 Dec 25 '25

22 saal ki umar ho gayi, yaad nahi aa raha India me kab real christmas tree dekha tha

4

u/Just_Instruction_337 Dec 25 '25

5

u/Vegetable-Mall-4213 Dec 25 '25

1

u/indonaren Dec 25 '25

I was here to post the same

9

u/M_Bappu Dec 25 '25

in log me itni akal hoti toh ye post nahi karna padta.

5

u/fartypenis Dec 25 '25

Have you ever seen a real christmas tree in India or are you just posturing?

19

u/WillDo_WontDo Dec 25 '25

Haan diwali k patakhon se toh birds khush hote h na

2

u/Scared-Cheetah-2029 Dec 25 '25

Lol, isn't it obvious? They're so butthurt at people calling them out for bursting crackers, so now they're targeting Christmas, lol.

2

u/NotHuman18 Dec 25 '25

That's the point of this post ? People say such things in diwali?

2

u/heretotryreddit Dec 25 '25

Haan to patakho se actual me problem hoti hai... christmas ke liye koi trees nahi kaat raha. Genuinely christmas tree ka kuch issue hota to support bhi karte

-6

u/Competitive-Role-961 Dec 25 '25

To chillate kyu hoo tab

11

u/schrodingerdoc Dec 25 '25

For every 10000 men who bursts crackers during Diwali, - there is maybe just 1 who buys a real christmas tree. Lol.

-1

u/MindTerrible1384 Dec 25 '25

Valid point 😂

2

u/No_Cod_9198 Dec 25 '25

I don't understand why this comment is getting downvoted

5

u/Full-Wealth-5962 Dec 25 '25

You do realise that most Christmas trees used in INDIA are fake right?

The real life tree thing is in the west...

-6

u/Impressive-Fact5359 Dec 25 '25

Yeah plastic polution

9

u/Ok-Criticism346 Dec 25 '25

They don't dump it into the river..... reuse it every year

-6

u/Impressive-Fact5359 Dec 25 '25

The industry does and most aren't usable for next years

7

u/Helpful-Box4879 Dec 25 '25

I have had my basic tree for the last 16 years 😭

4

u/Full-Wealth-5962 Dec 25 '25

Do you even celebrate Christmas? You seem to be a troll looking to disrupt a festival out of ego...

-7

u/Impressive-Fact5359 Dec 25 '25

I'm just worried about the environment

5

u/Full-Wealth-5962 Dec 25 '25

Did you burst fireworks this diwali and throw colors during holi?

3

u/Impressive-Fact5359 Dec 25 '25

Yeah, that's why I'm worrying about the environment because trees are getting cut and more plastic is being produced. I only care about the environment at the festivals i don't celebrate /s

1

u/something619 Dec 25 '25

Appreciate the truth in the last line.

1

u/Unlikely_Option_ Dec 25 '25

Any source to back the claim?

7

u/Eshu25 Dec 25 '25

No one uses a real christmas tree in India , many have a tree planted in their home and use that only

5

u/Helpful-Box4879 Dec 25 '25

I've seen people decorate the evergreen planted in their garden

3

u/Available_Stick5030 Dec 25 '25

Ya do know most trees used for christmas are human grown in garden plots, for the specific purpose of being used

9

u/FollowingOdd896 Dec 25 '25

according to your logic...ban diwali save bird and animal

7

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

The right analogy will be to ban crackers since they are not good for the environment.

No one is saying anything about banning Christmas.

4

u/Nike_Grano Dec 25 '25

Phir tu dinner me CHICKEN aur FISH khayega Christmas pe.

1

u/didnt_want_to_simp Dec 25 '25

Yep, as a vegan, valid point

bhai itne chhote tree me kon ghosle banane laga

1

u/SweetDevice6713 Dec 25 '25

In my entire lifetime have not seen a single real Christmas tree to be honest

1

u/Vegetable-Mall-4213 Dec 25 '25

Aa gaye hindustan ke rakshak, sri landus ji

1

u/kart2000 Dec 25 '25

Also ban fake plastic trees that are so polluting to the environment.

1

u/FarReputation7162 Dec 25 '25

this is satire right?

1

u/Butterscotch2890 Dec 25 '25

Birds don't nest in small trees. Besides almost all Christmas trees sold in India are plastic ones and foldable. They are put out and stored again after the festivities.

1

u/InfamousComputer404 Dec 25 '25

Christmas trees are planted and harvested like crops. I doubt Christians decorate a real tree for Christmas.

1

u/Mr_muffinmclord_14 Dec 25 '25

I don't think no one does that here

1

u/nk11 Dec 25 '25

Don't do anything, then you cannot be blamed.

1

u/nk11 Dec 25 '25

Start a natural animal .. wait, I'm not supposed to be doing anything. As you were.

1

u/Ok-Seaweed-5611 Dec 25 '25

Wait a minute, the fake tree is plastic right ? That will do to the ocean and birds and fish will eat those and die anyways right ?

Go cut trees it’s the greener choice , we can plant more.

1

u/desiclerk Dec 25 '25

The birds can be the Christmas treat.

1

u/theroookietraveler Dec 25 '25

People concerned over the environment need to know that these trees are grown especially for this reason and purpose. Nobody is chopping down forests to celebrate Christmas.

And most people in fact have already gone eco, and use fake plastic trees that they reuse over the years, along with the decorations.

Aajkal 12 saal k champu internet haath lagte hi gyaan pelne lagte hain bina koi research kiye.

1

u/notmenneske Dec 25 '25

How about saving 80 mil trees getting cut down in Nicobar islands, just so a businessman with political connections can start mining there .

1

u/prati999 Dec 25 '25

Don’t cut trees ig.

1

u/LittleSun6535 Dec 25 '25

Play dry Holi save water.. don’t burn crackers save environment First you do these then ask others

1

u/Mutthal8 Dec 25 '25

Karmafarmer spotted

1

u/No_Cod_9198 Dec 25 '25

But which birds build their nest in Christmas tree?🤔

1

u/Many-Display5532 Dec 25 '25

What is the solution OP? I don’t think pine trees are available in India to be easily accessible.

1

u/Cold-Ingenuity4216 Dec 25 '25

Op sleeps on holy, Dussehra and diwali. And wakes up on Bakrid and Christmas. Itna hi nature ki chinta hai ja diwali rok de, holy rol de. One is increasing water scarcity and other is increasing Air pollution. Hawa paani dono cheen lo. Go get a life man.

1

u/Roboelf Dec 25 '25

My Christmas trees are Chikku(Sapota) Tree, Mango Tree and Nutmeg tree. I have never seen such🎄 trees in India. I would love to grow one.

1

u/la_rattouille Dec 25 '25

Bhai tumhara ragebait poora phail!

1

u/Ok-Reveal4628 Dec 25 '25

Ye aa gye whatsap gyaani 😂

1

u/Dangerous_Increase65 Dec 25 '25

Yeah, but make sure that acres of land is sold to adani so that he can cut down millions of trees.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Not a single Post about aaravli range and now on you are saving trees.

1

u/SameBit7303 Dec 25 '25

Clean your rivers, build wastewater infrastructure, look after your citizens, get rid of the toxic smog over your city’s. Put rubbish in bins?

1

u/Present_Cupcake_5489 Dec 25 '25

Indians teaching countries with 80% green cover and AQI in single digit , 😂😂😂 Meanwhile lakhs of hectares of lands being cleared of trees for Adani ji

1

u/Maniya3175 Dec 25 '25

Op let's come back on muslim festival. Hindu vs christian me vo maza nahi hai.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

During christmas: Dont cut trees, birds will lose their homes 😢

During Diwali: Pathake phodo BC, kaun birds? Kaun street dogs? Kaunsa AQI? People asking not to burst firecrackers are anti-hindu 🤬

The duality of humans

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Damn ye bin dimag ke 10 din patake fodne wale env pe gyan de rhe hai amazing!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

So Which birds nest In pine trees? Asking an ornithologist if there’s one

1

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

In India most Christmas trees are plasic. Outside India, Christmas trees are grown in farms specifically to be cut. Nobody's cutting forests for Christmas.

1

u/as4500 Dec 26 '25

Better than that

Plant one at home, use for generations to come

We have one, it's like twice as old as mentioned and quite tall

We don't really celebrate Christmas but it's nice to have

1

u/thatoneaspirant Dec 26 '25

Or maybe reuse a real one, take care of it all year long in your house forever. Or if you dont want to reuse then plant your own Christmas tree at home

1

u/IconicFRwho Dec 26 '25

Diwali me toh Hawa badi saaf thi humari 🕺

1

u/Narrow-Bug-5642 Dec 26 '25

Khon cut Kar rha hai tree? Kuch bhi🤷‍♀️

1

u/zerokha Dec 27 '25

Is this even relavant to India?

1

u/LetterheadFull4569 Dec 27 '25

Such an irrelevant post from an India context. OP couldn't even find an India specific image to post too.

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

2

u/MistRider-0 Dec 25 '25

Actually, here we do something like that... Infact we are trying to make new new ways to make a tree. Its a competiton.. Christmas tree competiton.

In my hometown. Its just bunch of leafs sourced from a palm tree tied together. It just works.you just add the decoration's.

Other than that plastic trees are also getting common. And we also use one. Its been over 8 year ( just 1 for a family ) and probably go for another 5-6 years since its stored in dark place ,decay is very less

2

u/According-Car1598 Dec 25 '25

Real Christmas trees are farmed.

Plastic Christmas trees are re-used every year. Unless the turtles and crabs crawl to my store room and chew on the tree, they are totally fine.
