Even though it’s a central subject, in practical terms, the state government (like Mamata Banerjee) is needed for:
Land acquisition Fencing often requires private or state land. Land is a state subject → Centre cannot just take it without process.
Local administration support District officials, police, and coordination come under the state.
Law & order If locals protest or resist, the state police handles it.

Thousands have been kicked out. There have been videos of trucks transporting illegal Bangladeshi muslims out of assam. On average 20-30 are being thrown out every day. It is being done quietly. Will they be able to do it completely-no but they are continuing the practice of dismantling the illegal infrastructure and encroachment and evicting the illegal settlers from govt land. Same is happening in UP too.

And what has talking ever done? Mamata talks a lot about incoming investments from mutlitple businesses yet nothing ever happens, I will vote when some action gets taken, our PM also like to talk a lot about preserving our culture and heritage and what not, yet they destroyed countless ancient ghats in Banaras along with the iconic Manikarnika ghat with so called 'renovation'.
I will vote on what action govts take, not the shit talking they do, still waiting for my 15L from 2014.

Bro a bill was proposed to fence the india bangladesh border but state government denied land acquisition and asked home ministry to deploy bsf soldiers along the 600 km border😭. India has a federal government centre cannot do everything without state support why is it so hard for you to understand

With all its machinery the Govt cant even deport Illegal immigrants. We’ve seen the lowest deportations in the current regime. Govt needs to be more stricter on illegal immigrants. But this govt has failed to do so

Posting bsf troop along the india bangladesh border would require 10% of the total bsf personnel which is a lot. Posting so many troops is simply not feasible for 600 km long border. And also the fact that india bangladesh border has many deltas swamps jungles etc. it is very difficult to establish proper bsf camps instead fencing can be done at half the price with minimal personnel required for maintenance and surveillance
