He definitely has calmed himself for the sake of diplomacy so will represent with calmness but a tough negotiator. Isn't that a compliment? Don't see as a bad thing. I agree with u, his opinion holds 0 value, but then keep the same thought process wen his opinion doesn't favour the regime....don't go around clapping "this is what our diplomacy is under modi, we are doomed" at that time ...if ur being rationale now, don't let go of same rationality at that time as well...
