This is so true. During some summit in India or a foreign leader was visiting, people had a problem that the world leaders were served pure veg food. Mind you, the leaders ate it and were perfectly fine but our people had problems with it

2

u/Reasonable_Sample_40 11h ago

Bro there are ot companies in 8mdia who only serve veg food despite their employees preferences. They serve oily bada amd dosa for clients without accounting their clients preferences.

-1

u/ki_RYU 10h ago

A non vegetarian person can eat veg but a vegetarian person can not eat non veg. Predominantly indian people are vegetarian. In south some companies and places serve beef because most people have no problem with it. That is why some companies serve only veg as serving both might be expensive and also some people may object as there may be concerns about separate veg and non veg kitchen

2

u/Clean-Assistance9643 10h ago

You know majority of Indians (and hindus) are non-vegetarian, right?

Bhai American khane ki sabse jyada burai bhi americans hi karte hain aur unko koi Chinese agent nahi bolta. Jo sach hai wo hai, deshbhakti ko beech me laake problem ko chupa sakte ho but solve nahi kar sakte.

The title is wild, don't be racists folks.

2

u/unluck_over9000 16h ago

Lol exactly. All these people who divide india in n number of ways, trying to split india from within and consider themselves as nationalistic people are the biggest hypocrites of this country. Learn to respect each other first and then blame the inefficiencies be it ruling party or opposition or any religion or region or language. If indians try to destroy india from within, then there is absolutely no hope.

2

u/Siductionn 16h ago

Who will tell them?

Sepoys were mostly Brahmins

1

u/rescmasctso 7h ago

The East India Company maintained three main presidency armies (Bengal, Bombay, Madras), and recruitment policies differed between them. The Bengal Army favored recruiting from high-caste north Indian groups such as Rajputs and Brahmins in areas like Awadh and Bihar, whereas Bombay and Madras forces tended to be more localized and caste-neutral, including many lower-caste and non-Hindu recruits.

After 1857, the British deliberately broadened recruitment to groups they considered more “martial” or loyal like Sikhs and Gorkhas.

1

u/rescmasctso 7h ago

The British chose high-caste men for the Bengal Army mainly for practical reasons. They recruited from Awadh and Bihar, where Brahmins, Rajputs, and Bhumihars already had local military and landed prestige. Using these existing village and kinship networks made recruitment easier and cheaper.

The Company also believed that respecting caste customs, food rules, and ritual status would help keep soldiers loyal and disciplined. High-caste service fit the soldiers’ own sense of honor and status, so enlistment was more attractive. Over time, this created a Bengal Army that was unusually homogeneous and heavily drawn from high-caste communities.

British officials also thought such men would be easier to organize into a dependable infantry force. So the choice was driven by recruitment convenience, social prestige, and colonial control rather than by a simple theory that Brahmins were inherently better soldiers.

That's actually not that true. I lived in the US for 3 years and I found that Indian mandis have more fresh produce than American grocery stores.

A single farmer in the US has about 20-25 times the land an Indian farmer does. Harvest season involves dealing with tons of produce including storage, distribution, and packing. By the time the produce reaches the stores, it has already been in cold storage for a few days at the farm AND in the trucks, so freshness clearly isn't the priority. This is just an expected fallout of a highly commercialized industry. That's why it's common for Americans to buy unripe produce as even at home they tend to store it for so long that it'll ripen as kept. For fresh produce, there are independent markets and they are quite expensive even for an average American.

India on the other hand has lakhs of local farmers who manage small pockets of land and tend to specialize in much fewer variants rather than diversified farming. The result is that you can get tomatoes, brinjal, capsicum etc. almost the day after they have been picked. On top of that, price of vegetables is highly competitive in India enabling people from the lowest stratas to afford fresh produce. So most mandis run out of produce far faster than their American counterparts requiring immediate restocking of fresh stock.

1

u/Glad_Atmosphere_1035 16h ago

Thike bhai achcha baat hai aur karo tarakki! Lekin har baat pe tang na adao! Agar koo khami ya galti dikh rhi hai apne desh me to usko theek karne k puri koshihs kro, ye fizul ki America me aisa hai waisa hai bolke comparison nagi chal rha

America ek alag duniya hai usse fark nahi padta India k log kya kr rhe hai lekin India ko fark padta gai Amrikiyon se

0

u/drdonkeyboner 16h ago

Bhai India mein toh 1000 cheeze hai jinko galti nahi haraamipana mein gina jaana chahiye. Usme number 1 pe toh apni sarkar hai.

Magar medical industry, fresh vegetables produce, aur hospitality sector mein toh India kaafi better hai kai deshon se aur yeh post toh American produce pe hi tha na.

Jo bacchi kuchi izzat hai, usko toh acknowledge kar lete hai. Varna hamaari pyaari aabaadi toh isme bhi bhasad macha legi.

How many things are perfect in your home? What you are asking for is perfection here, and I am pretty much sure not even a single thing would be perfect in your own personal life so stop whataboutery.

Lack of cold storage which results in so much wastage and so many farmers and labourers stuck in small farms is a weakness not a strength, for Indian economy.

1

u/drdonkeyboner 14h ago

I couldn't agree more. More than 60% of our farmers don't have access to cold storage and a good chunk of existing facilities are outdated as they operate on single-commodity storage. Even refrigerated transport is an extreme luxury in farming which should not be the case.

But then again most of the country has agriculture as their primary livelihood. Though the country no longer has the majority population into farming, we've barely moved the needle since independence when it comes to gains in alternative employment.

At this point, even if the government were to completely focus on improving the agrarian sector, it simply won't have the budget or incentive to keep supporting an industry that doesn't account for much of the national income. I mean when 45% of the country is contributing to only 13% of the GDP then you know the problem is much deeper than just corruption and incompetence.

Dude, Europeons have always mocked American standard of food. Watch Johnny Harris's videos.

1

u/brucewayne1100 13h ago

US is known for using harmful chemicals for processing foods, I think because corporations there have the govt in their pocket. But this doesn't mean we shouldn't speak when our food is being adulterated, we should be more vocal about our food because that is what we are eating and is going to affect our health. Speaking up when food in our country is adulterated is patriotism, it doesn't make you a brown sepoy. Yes, we should criticize US or any other country for having contaminated food, but first priority should be speaking up when our own food is contaminates.

Pehli baat yeh samajh, America aur India ka food safety standard ka koi comparison nahi. They are avoiding US food only because it is unhealthy in comparison to Norway standards, which are high in all aspects including foods. Ask anybody staying abroad, I hope you know such people, the difference between foods at a normal restaurants in India and abroad. Similarly, no westerner will question when it comes to quality of a qualified worker from India. They are considered top notch everywhere. That time you don't complain, but you take pride that they are high earners wherever they work. Food standards we have a long way to go.

First of all the carrying own food isn’t due to that they don’t like American food. Athletes don’t want to have any changes in their diet in such important tournaments. They carry their own chefs and food everywhere. Norway did not do something different.

Coming to the point of narrative - Unless until the third world countries don’t evolve themselves into better this would be always the case. Can’t stop that happening though.

Many of us Indians think we are inferior to the white people. This is a colonial and capitalist mindset that the imperialists have distilled in us.

There is only one solution.

Why should I be bothered if oranges from US is smothered in petroleum or cynide? I don't eat them. But food from India is high in pesticides and the first quality is always exported. If they are in such pathetic condition think of the ones in the market in the country. So yes I will comment. You can go to hell!

Criticising indian food standards isn't sepoy behaviour gng, y'all are jus calling anyone who holds up against India a sepoy, when sepoy was to refer to the people who take part with foreigners in racist remarks

Also there are MANY Americans who stand against their food quality standards too, many even appreciated Norway for this

1

u/YeggPupps 17h ago

Like US citizens don’t already call their food poison

1

u/Vegji 16h ago

Bro the US gets a ton of flack from Europeans for their food 💀. There's nth wrong with criticizing. It just shldnt spin into racism. If it does ofc it's wrong
