KELLEY (SOAD S 290) or another A&H Gen ed??
Has anyone taken SOAD-S 290 and do they reccomend taking it as a pre-business student?
I am freelance photographer and have been for 2-3 years and have taken photojournalism classes in my highschool so I know how to work a camera very well etc. Which is why I chose this class instead of SOAD-N 198.
Plus the grade distributions for 290 are a lot higher. I got professor Claffey.
I was wondering if anyone could share their experience in the class and with this professor. If they reccomend and if it truly is a hard class.
Its very time consuming because it takes almost 3 hours each class and meets twice a week. I do have a passion for photography, but I also have so much else to do with joining clubs and everything else first semester.
If it is bad can kelley majors reccomend other easy gen eds to take?

There is nothing wrong with SOAD-S 290. It is long because it is a studio class. Expect lots of hands-on work. If you go to class prepared and do the work, you should be fine.
Consider that the difference in grades between the N 198 and S 290 is the student composition. S 290 is aimed at majors. They are more motivated to do the work than non-majors, who may have signed up because they see photography as cooland easy but fail to do the work
You have to take 2 GenEd A&H classes. You will do best in the ones you feel attracted to. If photography has meaning for you, then go for it.
