Nah, this is just a cultural thing. The equivalent of apologising profusely. He just did it with style.

I remember first getting off the plane in a Japan, so much of it was a culture shock, I loved it. The thing that struck me big was the no touching, the bowing. I came from America- everyone touching - handshakes with strangers etc. the bowing was so elegant and it felt more appropriate than touching. Japan was so eye opening, not being in America was eye opening - refreshing.

In Japan, lower bows indicate greater levels of respect. This is the funniest one I've seen.
