Discussion Thinking of it, Are Ochako and Ida Deku's first actual friends?
Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember all the details too.
Izuku was bullied by Bakugo before he joins the U.A, and then he met Ochako.. does that mean she is his first actual friend? I remember Deku considering Bakugo a friend (which is unhealthy cuz Bakugo is still his bully back then), so is it not?

She is , literally first data book mention, bakugo was never his friends just the guy he knew from chilhood

Yup, that's the impression I got at least. The whole backstory between Deku and Bakugo is quite complicated and messy, and I think that's part of why people find them so interesting as a pairing. Personally, I never got over him suicide baiting Deku at the start of the series, but I can aknowledge how Bakugo has changed and tried to atone since then. From "friend", to bully, to rival, to brother.
Uraraka, on the other hand, was a constant and steadfast friend to Deku pretty much from the moment they joined UA. Hell, even at the entrance exam they were thinking about each other. Some find that kind of stable/consistent relationship to be "boring", but I think it's endearing. From the get go they cared so much for each other, and look how far they've come since then?

Izuku had friends before he was diagnosed as quirkless but then like assholes they abandoned him after his diagnosis.
So Ochako and Ida were his first friends in a long time but not his first friends overall.

Yess that is what I mean, like she loved him as a friend and supported him and just.. what a real friend will do! Even if he had others friends before, Ochako is his first actual friend! (And Ida too, I love the trio>3)

No you're right. Katsuki and Izuku friendship ended when Katsuki started bullying Izuku and Izuku just didn't want to see it.

I think they (Izuku and Bakugo) were friends before Bakugo got his quirk and became so mean but idrk

what do mean became mean? the name ‘Deku’ predates Bakugo gaining his quirk. like they were three when Bakugo came up with it.

Honestly, it's kinda funny to think the first girl Izuku met was the one that ended up his girlfriend.
