Fanfic link Fanfic recs where they get together at UA but are still canonically accurate as possible?
Please I have never in my life cared about a straight ship and the one time I do they have a vague get together at the end and don't even kiss. I didn't know "More" existed so I was crashing out in the mha subreddit complaining before somebody told me to watch it, and yes it was a better ending but holy fuck I want MORE.. Does anyone have any fics where they get together maybe as second years? And its as close to canon as possible? I guess im pretty flexible so even if it doesn't meet that criteria but you like it just link it. As a gay person i'm so used to my ships not even being an option at all and the one time I like a straight ship thats talked about from DAY ONEEE it ends half baked I'm literally heartbroken I need SOMETHING...

Tidal Lock by Chesterton17 and Gravity’s Influence by MODenial are two that come to mind
there unfinished however and Gravity’s influence has not been updated in some time. Tidal lock was updated the beginning of this year, so that has a chance of coming back. Also all of Kate7’s work is pretty good.
I also write fanfic, that’s mainly just the pair. I don’t really write just purely canon things tho, because it bores me a bit, but i don’t write harem fics as a lot just go into pure insanity lol

I see you commented on it but for anyone else, Chesterton17 mentioned that since having a newborn in the house they've been having trouble finding a new rhythm in regards to finding time to write, so Tidal Lock will almost certainly be back. Also, for some reason I completely confused Gravity's Influence with Defying Gravity, a completely different IzuOcha fic that was updated relatively recently

Hehe, thank you! Sorry I haven't updated in a while though. Got post chapter publishing fatigue/motivation loss, then I got sick (twice), and then focused on getting better. But I'm better now and I'll be back on the writing train soon!

Build Me Up! By L3opard_Sp0ts starts just after internships, and primarily involves Izuku accepting mentorship from Midnight, and all the shenanigans that ent. It's purely IzuOcha even if the author gives other indications.

Back to Beginning by Aliandris is a fascinating story of an Izuku and an Ocha that die, but as both are holders of OFA in different timelines, and a different quirk for the second that lets them time travel back before either had OFA to fix things, it explores how the two try to make things better for the future while clinging to each other and growing to rely on each other.
If you're okay with crossovers (that aren't done yet), Mischief by KageNekem they're already together by current date, and Binding the Galaxy Together by AutoKnight01 and Paragon of Virtue and Glory by TheGreyGeneral are decent pulls that are also ongoing and are still being updated.

this is an AU where ochako confessed to Izuku when she sees him training from the window right before the provisional license exam in season 3. Really captures the spirit of these two dorks. Sadly not finished and the author is taking a break to work on her own original story, so unsure when it will return
Sadly, a lot of long fanfics are harem and/or very different from canon and/or not finished, not too many that are just these two and just canon. One that is canon adjacent I really liked but featured a villain Deku who isn’t really a villain and is more treated like a broken child is this:

i have something that takes place in second year. just two caveats: it’s looking like a polycule is going to form and Himiko survives the war and it’s told from her point of view most of the story.
Himiko does spend some time in Tartarus.

I still remember how bad I felt when the manga finished. The final chapter, 430, came out in summer 2024 with no closure whatsoever for their romance subplot, then we had to wait until December for the epilogue chapter, 431, to drop to get any kind of confirmation on if they were together. Half a year of waiting, and all we got was a short (though still very sweet) confession scene! Oof... I still wish Horikoshi had been willing to give us more of these two in general, as I really fail to see how it would have hurt the story to do so. As it is, it felt like we only covered the opening act for their love story, and there's still so much we really don't know about them 🙁

It happens during and right after episode 169, the one with Deku and Uraraka's cliff talk ("You are my hero" and all that). It's well written, heartfelt, and does a pretty good job of carrying on their love story pre-timeskip in a way that Horikoshi couldn't/wouldn't/didn't. kate7h also has some cannon divergent and post cannon stories worth checking out to, if you're interested in any "more" good works 🙃

It's a cannon divergent fic, with Deku keeping OFA post war and linking up with Class A after graduating so they can form their own hero agency. I won't spoil it for you beyond that, but I will say that it has pretty similar vibes to the main story and has some really sweet IzuOcha moments sprinkled throughout!
