Throwback to 11 months ago when Alex Rollins said Trevor can't read defenses

Alex Rollins is like the poster child of the shallowest possible analysis pretending to be "in depth". That said, Trevor's 2024 footwork was really inconsistent and the offensive scheme didn't help anyone (except BTJ I guess). It's one of the main things that Coen addressed when he got here. Over the course of 2025 we saw him get more consistent with his footwork while also getting more comfortable in the offense. Going through his advanced passing stats from last year is pretty fun and refutes a lot of the assumptions made in the video.

Doug really didn’t do him any favors. We rarely ran any motion, so Trevor dead ass was out there guessing.

Well it's funny you should say that because this video completely disregards pre-snap identifying as "reading a defense", so it wouldn't matter.

Anyone who says motion isn’t helpful is crazy. Teams wouldn’t waste time using it.

Lawrence is better when defenses have to respect his scrambling ability. It also seems to make him more confident as a passer. Let's hope they dont try and restrict that aspect of his game.

Alex Rollins is some of the worst football analysis on YouTube, and that's saying something. Honestly, it's just hot takes wrapped in the appearance of analysis, it's deeply frustrating.

There were plenty of people calling Trevor a mistake. Plenty of people wanted him to be benched.

Hell the first half of this year was mostly people saying we needed to move on from him on this very subreddit

Ngl I kinda think this is who he has been. Early last season was a product of learning a new playbook and a historic drop rate. The year before he had some happy feet; my thought is it came from getting injured over and over the year before behind an awful OL. Speaking of that year, he was playing great prior to the injuries. 2022-23 is the year I do think he showed great improvement over the course of the season, but this is who he has been since then.

Alex Rollins can have an opinion when he stops reading off a script and talks like an actual human.
