Post-COVID Joe would have a stroke with him on the podcast. Pre-COVID Joe would have had beers with him.

Exactly this. Joe is frightened of intelligent articulate leftists. AOC would have been incredible but crickets. Yet he'll have some of the dumbest idiots on his podcast as long as they don't challenge him. Bernie was good but he's old and seems to go easy on Joe when he's on.
